Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both questions: you explain that businesses highlight new features to attract customers, and you state that this is generally positive. The smartphone example—improved cameras, battery life and performance—supports the topic, while the points about jobs and research and development add relevant reasons. However, the explanation is repetitive, and several ideas are asserted rather than developed. For instance, the claim that advertising creates employment is mentioned more than once but is not clearly explained. The possible downside of unnecessary purchases appears briefly, but you do not explore it or weigh it against the benefits. Develop fewer points with specific explanations or examples, and make your position clear from the introduction through to the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is an identifiable overall direction: the response moves from the reason for advertising new products to the view that this is positive, and it includes relevant supporting points. However, the organisation is difficult to follow because ideas are repeated and several sentences run together. The final section repeats the benefits of innovation, employment and avoiding unnecessary spending rather than building a clear progression. Connectors such as “Moreover,” “Furthermore,” and “Therefore” are used, but some do not show a clear relationship between the ideas that follow. Use distinct paragraphs for the explanation, benefits and conclusion, and ensure each paragraph develops one main point. Clear sentence boundaries and more precise referencing would also help readers follow your argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “advertisements,” “competition,” “research and development,” “innovation,” and “employment opportunities.” These terms show an attempt to discuss the subject beyond basic everyday language. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make parts of the response difficult to understand, such as “doind this tings,” “highlights for attract customers,” and “introduced a jobs.” Repetition of “attract customers,” “businesses” and “positive development” also limits flexibility. Aim to learn accurate phrases as complete units, such as “emphasise new features” and “launch a new model,” and proofread spelling and word forms. More precise vocabulary would make your reasons clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both short statements and longer sentences with reasons and examples, including “Moreover, the introduction of new products can create new jobs…” This shows some effort to use more than one sentence pattern. However, control is inconsistent: errors in sentence structure, agreement, verb forms and punctuation occur frequently and sometimes make meaning hard to follow. For example, “This mainly use to attract more customer” lacks a correctly formed verb phrase, while “I believe that this trends is positive development” has problems with agreement and articles. Several ideas are joined without clear sentence boundaries, particularly in the smartphone example. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement, articles and punctuation before submitting.
