Student answer (Band 6.0)
Businesses have started advertising their products as the innovative versions of already existisng similar products. It has become a common marketing strategy in different enterprises to launch their products. This essay explains the reasons of why this marketing methodology is used, despite having minor drawbacks, this strategy results in prominent positive outcomes.
Businesses with similar products continuously are in a race to stand out among shared customers. This has resulted into gathering more attention from customers using amazing strategies. Many businesses glorify their products into modified version of already available products. This can be illustrated as two shampoo companies advertising their products. In order to increase customer base, one company added additional features and demonstrated their shampoo with multiple benefits, and it resulted in the flood of customer orders. Copyright claims are another reason besides grabbing customers's attention. A product which is basically introduced and made by an exclusive company can't be sold by others. Thus, many companies introduced modified versions in order not to get the any warning and penality and rightly sell their products.
This marketing strategy attracts a wide attention and results in the popularity of a company's product. Eventually, it generates revenue for the company. After gaining attention, companies can launch more products to satisfy the public demand and continuously grow in size. However, this restricts new enterprises to gain familarity with similar products because of extremely popular alternatives availabilty.
In a nut shell, marketing of unique alternatives help a company acquire recoginition in a harsh market and provides with the uniqueness, whic is not provided by other brands. This marketing strategy helps an industry in getting to the top of market and maintain a stable position.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions: you explain that businesses highlight novelty to attract customers and distinguish themselves, and you give a broadly positive view while acknowledging a drawback for new enterprises. The shampoo example helps illustrate how added features may increase orders. However, the explanation of copyright claims is unclear and does not convincingly show why presenting a product as new avoids legal problems. Your positive evaluation is also more developed than your discussion of the negative effect, which is stated briefly as a restriction on new businesses. To strengthen the response, explain this drawback more precisely and support your overall judgement with a clearer comparison of the benefits and costs.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining reasons, a paragraph on effects, and a conclusion. The ideas generally progress from competition and customer attention to business outcomes, and linking expressions such as “However” and “In a nut shell” signal relationships between points. At times, though, connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “This has resulted into gathering more attention” does not clearly identify what “This” refers to, and the shift from customer attraction to copyright claims needs a more explicit link. The conclusion also repeats the benefits rather than bringing the positive and negative points together. Use clearer referencing and make each paragraph’s central point explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “marketing strategy,” “customer base,” “modified versions,” and “revenue,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also some less natural choices and collocations that reduce precision, such as “gathering more attention,” “glorify their products into modified version,” and “acquire recoginition.” Spelling errors—including “familarity,” “availabilty,” and “whic”—are noticeable, while “in a nut shell” is not the standard form. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the general argument, but they limit the accuracy and control of the vocabulary. Aim for natural business collocations and proofread spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mixture of simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “A product which is basically introduced and made by an exclusive company…” and a contrast introduced by “However.” The main message is usually understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity and sentence control. For instance, “Businesses with similar products continuously are in a race” has awkward word order, and “one company added additional features … and it resulted” shifts from a plural subject to a singular pronoun. The opening also contains a run-on boundary between “products” and “It has become,” while the final sentence has an unclear construction in “provides with the uniqueness.” Check sentence boundaries, subject–verb and pronoun agreement, and article use when revising.
