Student answer (Band 5.0)
In recent years, advertising is now become a highly debated topic in society. Advertising of businesses means showing of their product details and designs but nowadays it has totally changed and start showing fake details of products. I strongly agree that it is a negative development and unethical.
Many businesses are using advertisement in wrong way and forget its purpose. Advertisement of products on online websites are fully change and also mismatch with the original product. Online shopping saves our time but it may a fraud or a scam with peoples due to the fake commercials and adds. It can be a good way to attract public by showing fake online advertisement and shortcut way to make money in a unethical manner. Showing fake dresses details and mostly colors difference are common issue of online shopping. For example, shopping on Daraz app must be convenient but its fake advertisement moves away peoples.
On the other hand, not only online businesses are starting showing bogus details rather in stores have also started it. Every shopkeeper has an aim to increase their sales somehow in a good manner or a bad. To fulfil this aim they have started fake advertisement to convince and agree people to visit their shop however they are doing this by displaying flexes of summer sales, winter sales, biggest sale, etc. When the customers visit the shops, they come to know about it that it is on a used items but packaging is new. For instance, mostly shoes shops sell used items or expired items in sales.
In conclusion, advertisement is a way to promote your business and it should be advertisement of original product. Fake advertisement of product is fully negative development.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
Your position is clear: you consider the development negative, and you give examples involving online shopping and shop sales. However, the response only partly answers the question because it focuses mainly on false advertising rather than explaining why businesses emphasise that products are new. The point about attracting customers and increasing sales begins to address the reason, but it needs fuller explanation and a direct link to novelty—for example, that “new” claims can create excitement, distinguish a product from competitors, or encourage purchases. The examples of Daraz and shops selling used goods support your concern about misleading claims, but the essay would be more relevant if it distinguished genuine product innovation from deceptive advertising and developed that distinction.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The body paragraphs also separate online advertising from claims made by physical shops, which gives the discussion some organisation. However, progression is limited because both paragraphs largely repeat the idea that advertising is fake, and the reason businesses highlight novelty is not developed as a separate line of argument. Linking phrases such as “On the other hand” suggest a contrast, although the following paragraph mostly adds another example of the same problem. Some references are unclear, particularly “it is on a used items,” and several sentences connect ideas loosely. Organise each paragraph around one clear point, then use more precise links and references to show how each example supports it.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “advertisement,” “products,” “online shopping,” “customers,” and “sales,” and phrases such as “fake advertisement” make your main concern understandable. However, the vocabulary is limited and repetitive, especially the repeated use of “fake,” “advertisement,” and “products.” Some word choices or combinations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “moves away peoples,” “shortcut way to make money,” and “displaying flexes.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Build a more precise set of expressions for the actual topic, such as “promote a new product,” “highlight innovative features,” “attract consumers,” and “misleading claims.” Check collocations and word forms when revising, rather than relying on the same general terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast introduced by “On the other hand” and a clause beginning “When the customers visit the shops.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to understand. Examples include “advertising is now become,” “it has totally changed and start showing,” and “Online shopping saves our time but it may a fraud,” which show problems with verb forms and sentence construction. There are also issues with agreement and articles, as in “Every shopkeeper has an aim” followed by “they have started.” Practise forming accurate present and present-perfect sentences, and check that each clause has a complete verb and a clear subject. Shorter, controlled sentences would improve clarity.
