Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays when businesses post their advertisement, they usually claim that the products they are advertising are new in some way. I strongly believe that it is a new way they have found to promote their product moreover it also works for them. I am inclined to believe that this is a positive development. The reasons are discussed below.
One of the main reason, is to make people attracted to their products. The advertisements runs through different platforms and it attracts all the crowd who is watching it. People who already own that product they also want to have the updated one. So this a businesses way of promoting their products to the audience and making clients. For example, if I already own an iPhone but then I see an advertisement that the same iPhone has now an additional camera feature it will make attracted to it and eventually I would want to buy it.
Another main reason is to increase the sale of the product. The new features added to the products gain popularity and ultimately increases its sales as well. The increase in sales of that product causes the growth of the company. By this way company can grow internationally as well. For example, I see something in local company of mu country and they have a product that is selling fast and they add a new feature to it which increases its sales more the business owner would definitely try to expand his business.
Thus, it can be concluded that businesses nowadays usually emphasise that their products are new in some way to gain people's attention and to expand their business which can be a positive development.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both questions: you explain that businesses highlight new features to attract customers and increase sales, and you clearly state that you see this as positive. The iPhone example supports the first reason, while the local-company example relates to business growth. However, the explanation of why this is positive is not fully developed: you focus on benefits to businesses and buyers’ interest, but do not consider possible drawbacks or explain more broadly why the development benefits society. The second example is also hypothetical and its link to international expansion is asserted rather than demonstrated. Develop each reason with clearer cause-and-effect explanation and more specific support to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction states your position, two body paragraphs present separate reasons, and the conclusion restates the main points. This makes the argument easy to follow. You also use basic linking expressions such as “Another main reason,” “For example,” and “Thus.” However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. In the first body paragraph, “So this a businesses way” does not clearly refer back to the preceding ideas, and the second example moves quickly from a product selling well to international expansion. Use more precise referencing and explain the links between claims. Varying transitions and ensuring each paragraph develops one connected line of reasoning would make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main ideas, with relevant terms such as “advertisement,” “updated,” “additional camera feature,” “sales,” and “expand.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “product,” “new,” “business,” and “sales.” Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, including “make people attracted,” “gain popularity,” and “increases its sales more.” These expressions make parts of the argument less precise, even though the general meaning is usually understandable. Build a wider range of accurate collocations for advertising and consumer behaviour, and check word forms and spelling, as in “mu country.” More precise vocabulary would help express the reasons and examples clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a conditional example beginning “if I already own an iPhone,” and the overall meaning can generally be followed. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty. Errors include subject–verb agreement in “One of the main reason” and “The advertisements runs,” missing words in “So this a businesses way” and “it will make attracted to it,” and an unclear sentence beginning “For example, I see something in local company.” Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise building accurate clauses with clear subjects and verbs, and check agreement and articles during editing. Greater control of these patterns would make your ideas easier to read.
