Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both the advantages and disadvantages, mentioning improved product quality and technological development as benefits, and waste and unnecessary spending as drawbacks. However, the task also asks why businesses emphasise novelty, and this is not clearly explained: the essay focuses mainly on possible effects rather than reasons such as attracting customers or gaining a competitive advantage. Your position on whether this is positive or negative is also unclear. The introduction says people hold differing views, while the conclusion recommends a balanced approach without stating your own overall judgement. Several points, including technological development and unnecessary spending, are asserted but not sufficiently explained or supported with specific examples. Develop the reasons behind the advertising trend and state a clear view.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and drawbacks, and a conclusion. This makes the main stages easy to identify. You also use signposting such as “For example,” “Secondly,” and “In summation.” However, some links are mechanical or do not accurately express the relationship between ideas. For instance, “Although ... but” combines two contrasting linkers, and “Hence, due to these reasons” repeats the same connection. The progression within the benefits paragraph is also difficult to follow in “companies with each other, they try to develop...” because the relationship between competition and innovation is not clearly expressed. Use simpler, precise transitions and make each paragraph develop one clear point in a logical sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of vocabulary, including “ubiquitous,” “technological development,” “drawbacks,” and “inherent,” and you use terms relevant to advertising and products. However, the range is not controlled consistently, and frequent spelling errors make some wording difficult to understand, such as “phenoemnon,” “comanies,” and “environent.” Several choices are unnatural or inaccurate: “denizens” is an awkward way to refer to consumers, “waste time advertising” does not convey the intended idea, and “dichotomous nature of their products” misrepresents the discussion of advantages and disadvantages. Prefer accurate, natural expressions over conspicuously formal vocabulary, and check spelling and collocations carefully. More precise wording would help your ideas come across clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession in the opening and cause-and-effect structures such as “This is because...” and “Thus...”. However, complex constructions are often faulty, and frequent errors can make the intended meaning difficult to follow. For example, “Although majority of denizens ... but some...” has an incorrect article and conflicting conjunctions, while “companies with each other, they try...” lacks a clear grammatical connection between its clauses. There are also problems with sentence construction and punctuation, as in “This helps customer enjoy better services and more easily.” Work on building complete clauses, using articles and plural forms accurately, and checking that each sentence has a clear subject and verb. Simpler, well-controlled sentences would improve clarity.
