Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify some relevant benefits of advertising, including informing customers about new products, prices and features, and helping them compare products. However, the response addresses the prompt only minimally: it does not explain why businesses emphasise novelty, and the positive-or-negative question is not answered with a clear position. The negative side begins with “some companies” using attractive images and celebrities, but this point is unfinished and unsupported. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, so there is not enough development to cover the task. To improve, state your view clearly in the introduction, explain businesses’ motives (such as attracting attention or differentiating products), and develop both reasons and examples before concluding.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: you introduce the topic, present benefits, and signal a negative point with “secondly.” Connectors such as “for instance,” “in addition,” and “thus” also show an effort to link ideas. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the opening is unclear, several ideas run together, and the final negative point stops abruptly. There are no clear paragraph breaks to separate the introduction, supporting points and conclusion, and some links do not show the relationship between ideas precisely. Use one paragraph for each main purpose, arrange points in a logical sequence, and finish each paragraph with a complete explanation. A brief conclusion should restate your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a range of topic-related words, including “advertising,” “products,” “services,” “characteristics,” and “special offers,” which helps communicate the general subject. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “compare different products.” However, the vocabulary is often repetitive or imprecise, and spelling errors such as “advertisments,” “comapre,” and “ocassionally” make the writing less clear. Some combinations are unnatural, for example “avoid money” and “accomodations” in the context of offers. Build a more accurate set of collocations for advertising and consumer behaviour, and check spelling carefully. More precise wording would help you explain the companies’ motives and the effects on customers.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response mainly uses simple statements and makes a limited attempt to connect clauses, as in “when any new mobile, cars and households things coming in the markets.” Errors in sentence structure and verb forms are frequent and sometimes obscure the intended meaning. For example, “when … coming” lacks a correctly formed main clause, while “advertising provide” does not show subject–verb agreement. Articles, plurals and punctuation are also inconsistent, and the opening contains a comma that disrupts the sentence. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then combine them using accurate clauses such as “When a new product enters the market, companies advertise its features.” Proofread each sentence for agreement, articles and sentence boundaries.
