Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear negative view in the introduction and conclusion, and you offer relevant reasons: misleading claims about product durability, celebrity promotion, financial waste, and possible health effects. However, the task asks both why businesses emphasise that products are new and whether this is positive or negative. Your response focuses mainly on false advertising and celebrity influence, so the specific motivation to present products as new—such as attracting attention or gaining an advantage over competitors—is not clearly explained. Several claims also need fuller support: the example about beauty products and skin cancer is asserted without evidence or explanation. Develop the reasons for novelty and support each with a more precise example to address the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The first body paragraph discusses advertising methods, while the second turns to their effects, giving the reader a basic progression. However, links between ideas are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For example, “Also” and “Furthermore” introduce points without showing how they relate, and “These kind of tricks product owners use promote their product” is difficult to follow. The conclusion largely repeats the opening rather than drawing the reasons together. Use clearer topic sentences and more precise referencing, and organise the discussion around why businesses stress novelty before evaluating its effects.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “celebrities,” “battery health,” “water proof,” “false information,” and “side effects,” so the reader can identify the subject of your argument. However, the range is limited and several word choices or forms are inaccurate or repetitive, including “extra value,” “false informations,” “a usefull,” and repeated uses of “promote” and “products.” Spelling errors such as “demostrate,” “conditianal,” and “thier” also reduce precision. Aim for more accurate collocations and a wider range of terms for advertising and novelty, such as “highlight new features,” “misleading claims,” and “consumer spending.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some longer sentences and use basic connectors, but the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the response difficult to read. Examples include “product owners are promoting their products by give them extra value,” “Some businesses selling their product,” and “some products has a side effects.” These show problems with verb forms, subject–verb agreement, and singular/plural patterns. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “For example, Some electronic companies…” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses; check verb forms and agreement carefully, for example, “Some businesses sell their products by claiming that they will last a lifetime.”
