Student answer (Band 5.0)
Nowadays, businesses produce large amount of products in huge variety. In the modern world, business companies usually focus on that their products are new in some way, by advertising them. In my opinion, this development has both positive and negative aspects, while they provide surety to the consumers about the products, it also results in creating confusion by emphasising more.
Firstly, they provide surety to the people about their convenience that they are making and selling the best products, by advertising their products people will know about the goods and can compare it with other companies products. For instance, Lo,real, organic are some of the well known companies because of their genuine products. Furthermore, becuase of advertising they will also gain popularity and can sell their products faster.
However, despite these advantages there are also certain disadvantages. Firstly, individuals may be in confusion because of their focusing on products too much in advertisment. They might start thinking that these products are not good that's why these companies are telling us the so-called facts about products. For example, one of the business company related to cloths claim in their advertisment that their fabric is of excellent quality and individuals are buying from them, albeit that is a fraud.
I would argue that, there are some advantages not only for the companies but also for consumers. Although there are also a few drawbacks, business companies spends a huge amount of money on advertisment but sometimes they fail to attract consumers.
In conclusion, business companies focus that their products are new in some way to encourage buyers, that's why they advertise these products on different plateforms. Overall, I believe it can be both positive and negative development

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both questions: you suggest that businesses highlight novelty to attract buyers and gain popularity, and you present the development as having advantages and disadvantages. However, the position is not fully consistent: the introduction says it has “both positive and negative aspects,” while the conclusion again calls it both, without clearly deciding whether it is positive or negative overall. The reasons are also limited or unclear. For example, the claim that advertising gives consumers “surety” is not explained, and the clothing-company example alleges fraud without showing how this relates specifically to advertising products as new. Develop the reasons for emphasising novelty and make your overall judgement explicit.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Basic signposting such as “Firstly,” “However,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the first body paragraph moves from consumer reassurance to comparison and then company popularity without clearly connecting these points. Some linking is also mechanical or unclear, particularly “while they provide surety …, it also results,” where the relationship between the ideas is difficult to follow. The final body paragraph repeats the mixed-view position rather than advancing the discussion. Organise each paragraph around one main reason and use clearer references and transitions to show how examples support it.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “advertising,” “consumers,” “convenience,” “popularity,” and “drawbacks,” so the main topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several expressions are repeated, especially “business companies,” “products,” and “advertisment.” Some word choices or combinations are inaccurate and make meaning less precise: “provide surety” is unnatural in this context, and “focusing on products too much” does not clearly express the intended criticism. Spelling errors such as “becuase,” “cloths,” and “plateforms” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise range of advertising and consumer-related terms, and check spelling and collocations so your ideas are expressed naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “Although” and a clause beginning “because,” but complex structures are often not controlled successfully. For example, “while they provide surety …, it also results” has a faulty connection and inconsistent subject reference. There are frequent agreement and form errors, as in “business companies spends,” and article or plural problems in “a huge amount of products” and “other companies products.” Punctuation also makes some sentences difficult to follow, particularly the long opening sentence of the introduction. These errors sometimes obscure relationships between ideas. Practise building accurate sentences with one clear subject and verb, then check agreement, articles, plurals, and clause boundaries.
