Student answer (Band 6.5)
There is an increasing amount of focus being put on advertising and marketting aspect of products by many businesses today. Nowadays, the adverstisments are so creative that the audience knows how much efforts and ideas would have been put behnid the scenes. But the main or core idea in a lot of these advertisments is how new and original the products are. It is mainly because of its ability to draw more people's attention and that's why this advertising strategy has a lot of potential benefits for the businesses.
People usually tend to get attracted towards something which is not banal or ordinary. They usually get more attentive to newer and original things becuase of the excitement to know more about them or to experience them for the first time. This analogy of the midset of people can be seen in a number of different areas in general. For example, people today often tend to reject a movie that is a remake. If some original or new idea or genre comes at the box office, they are more likely to lap it up. It is the same in cricket as well. When a new player makes his debut, all people including audience, commentators and even oppostion players are fascinated to see how he goes about his things in his first game. Because of the novelty and freshness this strategy brings, a lot of ads show that the products are new and original.
This kind of ads generate a lot more traction and queries from the consumers than the normal ads would. Although it is beneficial to businesses, if it is just for the sake of advertisments and not for real, people would quickly reject the products and it will affect businesses negatively. However if businesses manage to bring something new to their products in real as well, they will more likely benefit from this strategy. For example, many chocolate brands introduce new flavors of the same chocolate and becuase they brings novelty and the fact that it can cater to a number of different audiences because of its variety, people as well as businesses benefit from them.
To sum up, businesses should put emphasis on the delivery of the products just the way they are advertised or promised to consumers and if they are new or fresh in some way then it will be beneficial for both the consumers as well as businesses.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both parts of the prompt: you explain that novelty attracts attention and discuss the development as beneficial when products genuinely offer something new, but potentially harmful when novelty is only an advertising claim. The examples of film remakes, a debut cricket player and new chocolate flavours make the reasoning relevant. Your conclusion also reinforces the conditional position. This meets the task well, though the positive/negative judgement could be stated more directly and consistently: the response mainly supports a positive view, with a qualification, but does not clearly label the development overall. Some examples illustrate people’s interest in novelty rather than showing in detail how advertising affects purchasing or business outcomes. Develop that link and explain the possible consumer consequences more fully to strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining why novelty attracts attention, a paragraph weighing benefits against misleading claims, and a concluding recommendation. Ideas generally progress logically, and examples are placed where they support the relevant point. However, some connections are repetitive or slightly mechanical, particularly the repeated references to “new,” “original,” “novelty” and “strategy.” The opening also spends several sentences on advertising generally before reaching the central explanation. Some references could be clearer: “this strategy” refers broadly to novelty-focused advertising, while the paragraph also discusses genuine product innovation. Make that distinction explicit and use more varied transitions to show when you are explaining the appeal, evaluating the risks, or giving an example.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range for the topic, including phrases such as “draw more people’s attention,” “generate a lot more traction,” “novelty and freshness,” and “cater to a number of different audiences.” These show attempts to express ideas beyond basic vocabulary, and the meaning is generally clear. However, some choices are imprecise or unnatural, such as “the main or core idea,” “lap it up” in this formal essay, and “goes about his things.” Repetition of “new,” “original” and “people” also limits flexibility. Spelling errors—including “marketting,” “adverstisments,” “becuase” and “oppostion”—are noticeable, even though they do not prevent understanding. Aim for more precise collocations and proofread carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex forms, including conditional clauses (“if it is just for the sake of advertisements…”) and a relative clause (“which is not banal or ordinary”). Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, and the range is sufficient to discuss causes and consequences. Some grammatical errors remain. For example, “the audience knows how much efforts and ideas would have been put” has an agreement and countability problem, while “because they brings novelty” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. The sentence beginning “Because of the novelty…” is a fragment, and “if businesses manage… they will more likely benefit” needs a more natural adverb construction. Review agreement, countable and uncountable nouns, and complete sentence structure; these corrections would make your complex sentences more controlled.
