Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You identify a negative view and give a relevant reason: businesses highlight product quality and novelty to attract buyers and earn profit. However, the response addresses the question only minimally. The reasons for this advertising approach are not explained in enough detail, and the negative judgement is announced but not supported with a clear explanation of its effects. The sentence about products being “better than before” could have led to a specific point about misleading claims or unnecessary consumption, but this is not developed. There is also no relevant example or conclusion. The response is substantially below the required 250 words, so there is not enough material to address both parts of the task adequately. Develop each reason and explain your position with a concrete example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening states the topic and position, followed by a paragraph beginning “To commence” that gives reasons. Connectors such as “Additionally” and “Moreover” show an effort to link points. However, the ideas do not progress into a complete argument, and the final “Moreover” is left without a following point. The opening repeats “I will discuss,” while the body moves between quality, profit, attractiveness and novelty without clearly showing how these ideas relate. Paragraphing is also very limited. To improve, use a clear introduction, separate paragraphs for the reasons and your evaluation, and a conclusion; make each linking phrase introduce a complete, logically connected idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
You use a small set of relevant topic words, including “companies,” “product,” “quality,” “profit,” “advertisement” and “attractive,” so the general subject can be recognised. However, the vocabulary is basic and repetitive, especially the repeated use of “product” and “company,” and several word choices or forms make meaning unclear. For example, “newly in others companies” does not clearly express the idea that a product is presented as innovative or different from competitors’ products; “setting in home” is also difficult to interpret. Spelling errors such as “develomped” and “adertisment” further reduce accuracy. Build a more precise range for discussing advertising claims, consumer appeal and business motives, and check spelling and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both simple statements and a reason clause, as in “so that human buy the product,” showing some effort to connect ideas grammatically. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries are frequent enough to make parts difficult to follow. Examples include “many companies are convince,” “their product are,” and “Their company earn”; these need correctly formed verbs and consistent singular or plural subjects. Capitalisation and punctuation are also unreliable, as in “i will” and the full stop after “Moreover,” which leaves the thought unfinished. Practise accurate simple sentence patterns first, then add subordinate clauses such as “because” or “which” while checking subject–verb agreement and complete sentence boundaries.
