Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
The response identifies a possible benefit—new products may attract customers—and a drawback involving misleading online images, so it is relevant to the topic. However, it addresses the task only partially: the reasons businesses emphasise novelty are not clearly explained, and the opinion on whether this is positive or negative is not stated. The opening mentions “positive impact” and “negative impact,” but does not give a clear overall judgement, while the conclusion is absent. The examples about a clothing brand and online shopping are brief and do not fully support the main points. The response also falls 66 words short of the required minimum. Develop both reasons and effects, state your position directly, and support each point with a specific explanation or example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some organisation: the response begins with an introduction, moves to a paragraph about benefits, and then introduces a contrasting drawback with “In contrast.” These signals help readers recognise the intended structure. However, the progression is incomplete because the final paragraph ends abruptly, with no conclusion to summarise the argument or answer the question. Some links between ideas are also unclear; for example, the claim that new products help people purchase easily online does not explain how novelty itself produces this benefit. The opening sentence and the following general statement repeat the topic without advancing the argument. Use a clear sequence of reason, explanation, and example in each body paragraph, and add a concluding paragraph that restates your view.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The response uses some topic-related vocabulary, including “advertising,” “consumers,” “products,” and “websites,” and attempts phrases such as “positive development” and “fake images.” This gives enough basic language to communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited, and several inaccurate or misspelled choices make parts difficult to understand, such as “adertisement,” “costamers,” “seak attention,” and “fake or fraud clicks.” Some expressions are also imprecise: “new article” is unclear in the clothing context, and “reach their following” does not convey a clear marketing purpose. Aim for accurate collocations such as “attract customers,” “launch a new collection,” and “misleading product images,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts both simple and more extended sentences, including a relative clause in “Limelite is a clothing brand which…” and a contrastive opening with “While.” However, the range remains limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “this trend have numerous positive impact,” where the subject–verb agreement and plural form are incorrect, and “these brands shows,” where the verb does not agree with the plural subject. The opening also has unclear sentence construction, and punctuation is inconsistent, particularly around commas and spaces. Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and checking articles and plural nouns. Shorter, well-controlled sentences would help make your ideas clearer before you attempt more complex structures.
