Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, many businesses emphasise the new features of their products by advertisements. This is mainly because they want to attract more customers. I think it is a positive development.
On the one hand, there are several reasons why companies highlights the novelty of their products. Firstly, customers are often interested in ne ideas, modern designs, and technology. When companies introduce new ideas they need to promote their ideas to people. By this way, they capture the attention of people to search their ideas and products and increase their buyers. Advertisement explore their products to their customers. Secondly, competition between companies becoming increasingly intense, so businesses need to find the way which can help them to promote their products. So, advertising is the best way to explore your business all around the world.
On the other hand, I think this trend is positive because it encourages innovation and improve the quality of products. When companies introduce new features, they often invest and try to satisfy their customers. Some companies introduce minor change for major innovations. Nowadays, it help a lot for new businessman, who just start their business and want to promote their ideas and products. With the help of advertisement they can promote their business throughout the world and increase their sales. In the era of competition everyone try to improve their quality and explore their products with the help of advertisement.
In conclusion, I think this development helps businesses to promote their products. It also create a competition between companies, while this competition helps to improve their quality.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the prompt: you explain that businesses highlight new features to attract customers and compete, and you clearly state that you see this as positive. The point that advertising can help new businesses reach customers is relevant, while the link between innovation and improved product quality gives a reason for your opinion. However, some ideas are asserted rather than explained. For example, “it encourages innovation” would be stronger with a specific explanation of how advertising pressures companies to develop useful features. The claim that advertising is “the best way” to promote a business is also broad and unsupported. Develop fewer points with a concrete example and clearer cause-and-effect reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph explaining why businesses advertise novelty, a paragraph supporting your positive view, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” helps readers follow the main stages. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The shift from “On the one hand” to “On the other hand” suggests a contrast, although the second paragraph continues your positive argument rather than presenting an opposing view. Repeated references to promoting products and increasing sales also limit progression. Some links, such as “By this way,” do not express the relationship naturally. Use transitions that reflect the actual logic, and organise each paragraph around a distinct, developed point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “novelty,” “modern designs,” “competition,” “innovation,” and “quality of products.” These choices make your main ideas understandable. However, the range is limited by repeated use of “promote,” “products,” and “advertisement,” and several word combinations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “explore their products” and “increase their buyers.” There is also a spelling error in “ne ideas,” and “businessman” is not the most suitable general term for people starting businesses. Aim for more precise collocations and vary repeated vocabulary; for example, describe how advertising “showcases new features” or “attracts potential customers.” This would make the argument clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “When companies introduce new features, they often invest and try to satisfy their customers.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, but some errors in agreement, verb forms, and sentence construction remain. For example, “companies highlights” should have a plural verb, “competition … becoming” needs a finite verb, and “it also create” should agree with “it.” The sentence beginning “Some companies introduce minor change for major innovations” is also difficult to interpret because its grammatical relationship is unclear. Review subject–verb agreement and make sure each sentence expresses a complete, logically connected idea. More accurate control of these patterns would strengthen your varied sentence forms.
