Student answer (Band 4.0)

In advertising businesses nowadays usually emphasise that their products are new in some way. Why is this Do you think it is a positive or negative development?

There are several ways to emphasise a new products. for instance, low rate of a products, changing the quality of the products they may provide material at low rate as well as with low pay rate. According to me it is a positive development because pomoting a new products has several ways one of most effective way is the advertisement which attracts the customers the most , but is costly and can cause loss of money more than it was earned. so it not always necessary to make a successful advertisement but if we don't form a sucessful or attractive advertisement it may cause loss of money. Some of the advertisement are cost effective and attractive which provokes people to purchase the particular products. or the another effective way to provoke people to purchase the particular products. at low rates with some effective offers on various effective offers. For instance diwali offers, holi offers and new year offers etc.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You state a position—“it is a positive development”—and mention advertising, customer attraction, costs, and seasonal offers, so there is some relevant material. However, the response does not clearly explain why businesses stress that products are new, and the discussion of low prices and offers does not directly answer that question. Your positive view is asserted but not supported with a clear, developed reason or a specific example. The response contains 160 words, which is 90 words below the required minimum; 26 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. This substantial shortfall leaves the task only minimally addressed. To improve, explain businesses’ motives, such as standing out from competitors, then develop your opinion with a relevant example and a clear conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.0

There is a basic attempt to connect ideas, using phrases such as “for instance,” “According to me,” and “For instance.” The reader can identify a general topic and your opinion, but the response has no clear paragraph structure or sustained progression from the reasons for advertising novelty to your evaluation. Several points are repeated, especially the idea that advertisements attract or provoke customers, while the links between low prices, advertising costs, and seasonal offers are unclear. Some transitions are also awkward, such as “or the another effective way.” Organise the essay into an introduction, separate body paragraphs for the reasons and your view, and a conclusion. Use linking expressions to show the relationship between ideas rather than repeating the same point.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “advertisement,” “customers,” “costly,” “attractive,” and “offers,” and the general meaning is usually recoverable. However, the range is narrow and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “effective,” “products,” and “purchase.” There are also inaccurate word forms and collocations, such as “a new products,” “low rate of a products,” and “provokes people to purchase.” Spelling errors such as “pomoting” and “sucessful” further reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise language about business motives and consumer behaviour, and check spelling and singular/plural forms. For example, “promote a new product” and “encourage consumers to buy” would be more natural expressions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a sentence beginning “According to me” that tries to explain your position and its qualification. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence boundaries, articles, agreement, and punctuation sometimes make the relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “There are several ways to emphasise a new products” has an article and number mismatch, while “so it not always necessary” is missing a verb form. The opening also runs the task question into the response without clear punctuation. Use shorter, complete sentences first, checking that each has a subject and verb and that singular nouns take singular articles. Then practise combining ideas with accurate clauses and punctuation.
