Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You take a clear negative position and give two relevant reasons: advertising can mislead consumers, and businesses may prioritise profit over people. However, the task asks both why companies emphasise novelty and whether this is positive or negative. The reasons mainly describe possible harms rather than explaining the business motive for highlighting newness, such as attracting attention or differentiating products from competitors. The examples about social-media promotions and beauty products are relevant in topic, but claims such as products containing “fake ingredience” are not explained or supported clearly. As a result, the response addresses the task only partially, and its ideas remain limited and under-developed. Explain the commercial motivation directly, then develop each reason with a specific, credible example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “To begin with” and “Moreover,” and a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument easy to follow. The paragraphs also generally keep to one central concern each. However, some links are mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is not always clear. For example, the first body paragraph moves from misleading information to health outcomes and then to competition without fully showing how these points connect. In the second, “For example” introduces influencers, but the explanation that follows is difficult to track. Use clearer cause-and-effect links and make each example explicitly support its paragraph’s main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “misleading,” “scientifically proved,” “paid collaborations,” and “quality of products,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “prioritise money over humanity.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make parts of the response difficult to interpret. Examples include “different criterias,” “misleading informations,” “competative,” and “fake ingredience”; “new in some aspects” is also imprecise. Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than adding formal-sounding words, and check spelling and countable/uncountable forms. More precise terms such as “product innovation” and “consumer trust” would help express the argument.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “products which are not scientifically proved” and a purpose phrase in “Inorder to make profit.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences hard to follow. For example, “These establishments nowadays highlighting” lacks a finite verb, while “the outcomes are negatively affects” combines incompatible verb forms. There are also problems with agreement and sentence construction in “the competitions between them forcing” and “This will leads.” Practise building accurate clauses with a clear subject and verb, then check verb forms and agreement. Correcting these patterns would make your meaning more consistently clear.
