Student answer (Band 5.5)

It has become common nowadays to develop new products by the businesses. Every kind of business want to innovate products for their customers because they want to see better and innovative products. As the intrest of the buyers have changed, they are encouraging those suppliers who want to change their old business notion and provide them with new products. It is because the world is changing rapidly and social media forces people to buy and create new things because same look, same taste and same design can make them less satsified. For example, individuals of 21st century post stories before eating and they want others to see that they are trying new things and exploring life in a different way. This is one of the reason why people want to see different and innovative ideas in markets and hence markets are adopting it. It is very crucial for businesses to see the needs of their customers in order to stay competative in markets. It helps businesses to create a healthy relationshop with their customers. It is because the customers are the main sources for any business to earn revenue.

This change is positive to some extent because it allows businesses to create a healthy relation with their conusmers and it also allows them to stay relavent in market along with earning profits. It enchances the creative skills of a certain society because nowadays businesses are allowing individuals to give them ideas and selling methods in exchange of a reward. It can make a society more negative if people donot want to change their styles and taste and want to see the old product. In short, it completely depends on the consumers of a business that they want to see products new in some ways or continue their ancient fashion.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions: you explain that businesses promote novelty to respond to changing consumer tastes and remain competitive, and you describe the trend as positive to some extent. The example about people posting food experiences on social media helps illustrate changing preferences. However, the explanation of why advertising specifically emphasises that products are new is not always clear; parts focus instead on businesses developing products or consumers wanting innovation. Your evaluation is also limited: the possible negative side is mentioned only as consumers preferring old products, without explaining its consequences. Develop this contrast with a specific example and state your overall view more decisively.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable progression from reasons for innovation to an evaluation, and the final paragraph signals a shift with “This change is positive to some extent.” Examples and explanations are generally placed near the ideas they support. However, the first paragraph combines several points—social media, changing tastes, competition and customer relationships—without clearly separating or prioritising them. Some links are repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “It is because,” and the conclusion introduces an unclear contrast between new products and “ancient fashion.” Use clearer paragraph focus, vary linking expressions, and make the final sentence directly summarise your position so the overall progression is easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “innovate,” “customers,” “revenue,” “creative skills” and “competitive,” and the meaning is generally understandable. There is some attempt to express abstract ideas about consumer demand and business relationships. However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “new,” “products,” “business” and “customers,” while several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, including “healthy relationshop,” “ancient fashion” and “selling methods.” Spelling errors such as “intrest,” “satsified,” “conusmers” and “relavent” also reduce precision. Build a more accurate range of collocations, such as “launch innovative products,” “meet consumer demand” and “maintain customer loyalty.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, using clauses with “because,” “as” and “in order to,” and most of the main ideas can be understood. However, errors in agreement and sentence construction recur. For example, “Every kind of business want” needs subject–verb agreement, while “the intrest of the buyers have changed” has a mismatch between the singular subject and verb. The sentence beginning “It can make a society more negative if…” is also difficult to interpret because the relationship between the condition and result is unclear. Review agreement, articles and plural forms, and make sure each long sentence expresses one clear relationship. More consistently controlled complex sentences would improve accuracy.
