Student answer (Band 5.5)
Businesses often focus on promoting product in new angle everytime to create a perception of new product in cosumer mindset. This essay will explain the reasons behind this and argue that why it is a positive development.
The main reason for this development is to cope up with changing consumer preferences.Due to the advancement of techonology, fast paced globalization, cross country culture, customer prefers variety of product. But rapid producition of many products in short pace of time ,it's quite expensive, requires investment for company. In addition,it's universal human nature to become boredom of identical material objects. Therefore to remain engaged, recall the brand product in a new way advertising product in new sphere is necessary for any company to survive in the longrun. For instances The lux brand promotes one product 'SOAP' in new flavours, bringing new endorsement of celebrity in different ways.
This development can be seen as positive aspects. If company consider the changing needs and in respect of needs give reponses everytime, the demand of consumers will become endless. This also leads to wasting resources, affect the environment and rise up the pollution.Eventually severe production of goods plummets the growth of economy and creates a imbalance in supply. To produce a jeans cloth thousands of gallons of water is needed.Educating the consumers to reuse the product in many ways is more important than encouraging to buy new goods. However,I also believe credibility and transparency to brand can be damaged.Consumers has equal rights to know that they are not deceived through the advertisement .
To reduce this problem I prefer having a balanced approached taken by the company.Business should be more cautious about customer's trust towards the brand. It's important to maintain a pure communication with customer for sustaining a relationship.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both questions: you suggest that businesses highlight novelty to respond to changing preferences and avoid costly rapid product development, and you discuss environmental waste and consumer trust. However, the position is not fully consistent. The introduction calls the development positive, while the body mainly describes harmful effects and recommends a balanced approach, so the reader is left unsure of your overall judgement. Some reasoning is relevant but under-developed: the soap example illustrates changing advertising, but does not clearly show why this strategy benefits businesses or consumers. Make your position explicit and consistent, then explain each main reason with a clear example and a direct link to the question.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph on reasons, a paragraph discussing effects, and a concluding recommendation. This gives the reader some organisation. However, progression between ideas is uneven: the second body paragraph begins by calling the development positive, then focuses on resource waste, pollution and damaged credibility, which are largely negative points. The final paragraph introduces a solution but does not clearly resolve the earlier contradiction. Linking phrases such as “In addition,” “Therefore” and “However” are used, but some connections between claims are unclear or mechanical. Improve the logical sequence by grouping reasons together, then evaluating the development, and use clear references to show how each sentence relates to the previous point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “consumer preferences,” “globalization,” “investment,” “transparency” and “sustainability” (through the discussion of reuse and environmental effects). This gives you some means of expressing the main ideas. However, the range is limited by repeated general terms such as “product,” “company” and “new,” while several inaccurate word choices or forms make meaning less clear: “new in a new angle,” “become boredom,” and “severe production” are not natural expressions. Spelling errors such as “consumer,” “technology” and “production” also affect the impression of control. Build a bank of accurate topic collocations and check spelling and word forms during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including cause-and-effect structures with “Due to…” and “Therefore,” and a conditional idea beginning “If company consider…”. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some passages difficult to follow. Examples include “customer prefers variety of product,” “If company consider… the demand… will become endless,” and “Consumers has equal rights,” where agreement, articles or plurals are not controlled. Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly where several clauses run together. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time; carefully check agreement, articles, plurals and punctuation.
