Student answer (Band 5.0)

There is ungoing debate that advertising, businesses at now usually highlight that their items are new in some way. In my opinion, disadvantage is more than advantages because these things will go fever of business growth..

To begin with, many businessman underline that their items are new because many customer wanted to buy new things in the market therefore their quality are better than previous products. For instance, a lot of people wanted to buy a new brand of shoes because its look like very shinning. Furthermore, the one main pros is that businessman wanted to attract customer for new things because when a person buy anying new so they feel like comfortable and they recommended every person to go there. Secondly, most of business have competitors who are competing with them,so they feel that their product will be not left behind or that competitor will not surpass them; this is what most businesses see as the important reason.

On the other hand, I think it negative development because business can mislead the peoples, showing them new things if they are new, if they coninue this trend, so they loose customer. For example, if one of a person deny a business platfrom because they are see ads on daily basic on those products people are knowing this is not new.

To conclude, businesses often present their product as new when they are not. they do this because they want to build their relationship with customer or attract new ones. It will be seen as negative development if there are no genuinely features added.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the prompt: you suggest businesses stress novelty to attract buyers and compete, and you give a negative view because misleading claims may cost them customers. Your position is present, especially in the opening and conclusion, but it is not consistently precise: the opening says the disadvantages outweigh the advantages, while the conclusion makes the negativity conditional on there being no genuine features. The reasons are relevant but only briefly supported. The shoe example focuses on appearance rather than explaining why advertising something as new persuades consumers, and the point about losing customers needs a clearer cause-and-effect explanation. Develop each reason with a specific, logically connected example and state your overall judgement consistently.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph about business motives, a paragraph presenting a drawback, and a conclusion. Sequencing expressions such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” “Secondly,” and “On the other hand” help signal movement between points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the first body paragraph shifts from product quality to shoes, customer recommendations, and competition without clearly linking these ideas. Some connections are also unclear, particularly the explanation of how seeing repeated advertisements leads a person to reject a business. The conclusion repeats earlier points rather than bringing them together. Use clearer topic sentences and explain the relationship between each supporting example and its main idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “attract customer,” “competitors,” “mislead,” and “negative development,” and you use some topic-related terms such as “products” and “advertising.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning hard to interpret. Examples include “go fever of business growth,” “new brand of shoes” where you appear to mean a new model, and “business platfrom.” There are also repeated basic words such as “new,” “business,” and “customer,” alongside spelling errors such as “shinning” and “coninue.” Build a more precise set of expressions for novelty, consumer behaviour, and competition, and check spelling and collocations when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because” and “when,” and the overall meaning can often be followed. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are frequently faulty. For example, “many customer wanted” has a number and verb-form problem, while “their quality are better” has subject–verb disagreement. In “if they coninue this trend, so they loose customer,” the conditional structure is not formed correctly, and “they are see ads” uses an incorrect verb pattern. Missing or inconsistent articles and plural forms also recur. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected subordinate clause, then check agreement, tense, and punctuation.
