Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, companies using advertisements in which they claim that their products are upgraded. This is because the companies are trying to grab intention of customers and i think this is positive initiative which will help people.
Companies do this to gain the focus of customers and trying to convince costomers to use their producs. They introduce new features in the product that customers find interesting and they want to purchase the.For example, earbud company shows the feature of noise cancelation which will help to stop the extra voices from surroundings leads towards more focus on what you are listening.they do this also to compete with other companies by introducing new things as compare to other company products. to explain this,Samsung is a strong competitor of Apple and they introduce new models every year ad introduce new features which they shows in advertisements.
in my opinion i think this process have a positive impact on people because due to the competition between companies, people enjoy new features and ger facilitated by them. For Example,if apple improve their camera quality and shows it in advertisement and on the other hand samsung do the same thing, people have both sides infront of them in statistical way and they have oppertunity to select best one. Here i will explain this with my personal example,i am watching ads from two different earbuds companies, they was introducing their features in ads,i choose one over other because they are giving more battery backup then other in the same expense and in this way advertisement plays important and positive role.
in conclusion, the strategy of advertising is to grab more customers and this has a positive impact on customers because they have know better what they want and they get to know this from advertisement

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you explain that businesses highlight new features to attract customers and compete, and you clearly state that you see this as positive. The examples involving noise-cancelling earbuds, Samsung and Apple, and your own purchase help make the response relevant. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For instance, the claim that competition benefits people could be developed by explaining how it encourages better quality or more affordable products. The personal example supports your view, but the comparison between the companies’ features and the effect on consumers could be clearer. Overall, the task is covered, though some ideas are less fully developed than others.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining companies’ motives, a paragraph giving your opinion, and a conclusion. This gives the reader a general sense of progression. Examples are usually placed near the points they support. However, links between ideas can feel mechanical or unclear, particularly the repeated use of “For example” and “they do this also.” Some sentences contain several ideas joined together, making the relationships harder to follow. The conclusion repeats the main position but does not bring the reasons together. Use clearer topic sentences, divide long sentences, and vary linking expressions so that each paragraph develops one main point more smoothly.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “features,” “compete,” “noise cancellation,” “battery backup,” and “advertisement.” These choices allow you to communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors make the writing less precise. Examples include “grab intention” for attracting customers’ attention, “extra voices” for background noise, and “in the same expense” for at the same price. There are also misspellings such as “costomers” and “oppertunity.” Aim to learn accurate phrases as complete units and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish between advertising claims, product improvements, and the benefits consumers actually receive.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including explanations with “because” and examples introduced by “if.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation sometimes make the reader work to understand the meaning. For example, “they was introducing” should be “they were introducing,” while “this process have a positive impact” needs “has.” The opening sentence is also incomplete in structure: “Nowadays, companies using advertisements…” needs a finite verb, such as “companies use advertisements.” Several sentences run together without appropriate punctuation. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check each sentence for a complete main clause.
