Student answer (Band 5.5)
Today world is becoming more competitive day by day. In oder to progress in business some companies generally declear that their product has something new. It has both positive and negative aspects. In my opinion, I do not support the idea of unnecessary advertising.
In recent time, advertising has become much more attractive compared to the past. It has some meretis because it helps the company to reach their products to a large number of people. As a result, the sell is also increased and ultimately, the company is benefited. So, it is modern technique to increase the profit. Moreover, the advertise also add some details and extra information about the product that they have some new and advanced qualities in their brand new product. For example, korean beauty products are gaining popularity day by day because of their advertising. In addition, they also update their ingredient lists which are newly added and why the product is unique from others. Therefore, young girls get attracted by this and buy korean products.
On the other hand, it has some negative sides also. Nowadays, companies are doing unnecessary advertising or spreading false new through adversiting which can create a serious problem. When we are watching any vedios in youtube suddenly a advertise pop up to the screen and say a lot of things about their product. Some of them can be true but maximum are extra added information. In oder to compete with other companies, some businessman are doing extra advertising claiming that they added new features to their new products. However, in most of the cases it is not true. Furthermore, people buy this products without knowing the actual feature. By this way, comapanies are gaining profit by cheating their customers.
In conclusion, opinions may vary but I think that giving extra focus on advertising saying that their product is new in some way can lead to a serious problem.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both questions by suggesting that businesses promote novelty to attract buyers and increase sales, then arguing that this can be harmful when claims are exaggerated or false. Your position against unnecessary advertising is clear in the introduction and conclusion. The Korean beauty-product example also gives some relevant support. However, the explanation of why businesses emphasise newness is only partly developed: you mention competition and profit, but could explain more directly how novelty helps a product stand out or encourages consumers to purchase. The positive and negative sides are discussed, yet the final judgement focuses mainly on misleading advertising rather than clearly weighing whether the development overall is positive or negative. Develop that overall evaluation and support each main point more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the shift in argument, and examples are placed with the relevant points. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For instance, “So, it is modern technique to increase the profit” repeats the preceding idea, while “By this way” does not clearly show the relationship between customers’ purchases and companies’ profits. The first body paragraph also moves from general sales benefits to product information and then to young consumers without fully explaining each link. Use more precise referencing and develop a clearer progression within paragraphs, rather than relying mainly on standard transition phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “competitive,” “advanced qualities,” “ingredient lists,” “features,” and “customers.” These choices help communicate the main ideas about product promotion and consumer trust. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, such as “declear,” “meretis,” “adversiting,” and “vedios.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “reach their products to a large number of people,” “the sell is also increased,” and “extra added information.” Aim to learn accurate collocations for advertising and sales, and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “promote products,” “sales increase,” and “misleading claims” would make the argument clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and more complex sentences, including cause-and-effect structures with “because” and “as a result,” and a contrast introduced by “However.” This gives the response some structural variety. However, errors occur frequently in sentence construction and agreement, and some make the meaning less clear. For example, “the advertise also add” has problems with the subject and verb, while “people buy this products” has a number-agreement error. Articles and sentence patterns are also unreliable in “it is modern technique” and “a advertise pop up to the screen.” Practise checking subject–verb agreement, singular and plural forms, and article use. Build accuracy in shorter sentences first, then add complex clauses while keeping each sentence’s structure clear.
