Student answer (Band 5.0)
Businesses nowadays usually emphasizes that thier products are new in some way because these are the advertising methods which are used for the promotion of their products . They usually played with the mind of a people . when people listen through any possible source that some brands or bussiness are making such product which are new in the markets t , they always try it for experience and in this way the sales of such businessess increase by a greater amounts . This method of marketing is very profitable for the businessess nowadays which pay them beyond their expectations . from my side it is a neutral developments because we can see it as both negative and positive as well .it seems positive when businesses used this technique for the sake of profit because every one has right to get their bussiness to higher points its also used for the sake of gaining popularity as in the compitition of other businessess .in the same time this method of advertisement also seem negative because if they say false about their product the people will may lose trust on such bussiness and this is also playing with feeling of their customers thats why i have a neutral opinion on this development .i also know a cosmetic brand which is recently published which claim that they sell the korean products but when people use them they discovered that the products were little bit like korean cosmetice products but they were not actually the Korean cosmetic products so in this way most of the people losses trust on them . so due to thier wrong claim they face a huge lose .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both parts of the question: you explain that businesses highlight novelty to attract customers and increase sales, and you give a view that the development is neutral because it can have positive and negative effects. The example of a cosmetics brand making misleading claims is relevant and helps illustrate the risk of losing customers’ trust. However, the explanation of why novelty appeals to consumers is brief, and the positive side is mainly asserted rather than supported with a specific example. Your position is also not fully consistent: you call the development neutral, but later focus chiefly on its negative consequences. Develop both sides more evenly and state clearly how you weigh them in your conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response contains a recognisable sequence: it introduces a reason for novelty-based advertising, considers positive and negative effects, and gives an example. However, ideas are presented in one long paragraph, so the shifts between explanation, opinion and example are difficult to follow. Linking phrases such as “in the same time” and “so” are repeated or used awkwardly, and the relationship between the neutral position and the final negative example is not made clear. Organise the response into separate paragraphs for the reason, the evaluation and the example or conclusion. Use a clearer progression and refer back to the central question when moving between points.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “advertising,” “promotion,” “sales,” “profit,” “popularity” and “trust,” which makes the general subject understandable. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “played with the mind of a people,” “higher points” and “a huge lose.” Spelling errors, including “bussinessess,” “compitition” and “cosmetice,” also make the writing less clear. Aim for precise collocations used in marketing discussions, such as “influence consumer choices,” “gain a competitive advantage” and “mislead customers.” Check spelling and choose words that express your intended meaning directly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example when explaining how novelty can attract customers and increase sales. However, these complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries occur frequently. Examples include “Businesses nowadays usually emphasizes,” “They usually played,” and “the people will may lose trust.” Several sentences run together without appropriate capitalisation or punctuation, which makes the argument harder to read. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea at a time, then add subordinate clauses using patterns such as “because” or “although.” Review subject–verb agreement and modal verb forms, and use full stops to separate complete ideas.
