Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, many bussiness highlights the new fetures of there businsses to attract the customers and provide them latest and new technology and compete with their compitators, because the more updated with technology the product with packeging, technology, resources and other factors customers get attracts the more.

One main reason, the company emphasise that their product is new in any way, beacuse every customer want to be a updated, want new tachnology, want something new from the product they had before, so by this way customers get engaged and intersted by product. for instance, a phone campany launching a new model of a mobile phone, where they emphasis their mobile colors is different from the mobiles' they had before, the camera quality is improved, and the performance is also faster than other. As a result, customer may get encoureaged to buy their new model.

I belive it has mostly positive development, beacuse it encourage companies to improve the quality of goods, and always keep the things updated to compete with global comapanies, it is also beneficial for country's development also to stand out globally.

However, this has a negative factor to, because in advertisment it show the minor change in to something big which is not as differ from last product than the consumer get effect. let's understand by simply words, a company launch a new model of mobile phone which has not improved features but only has change in a few pixel of camera quality which made no such difference, customer get attract by advertisement which can lead them unneccessary pruchase.

In conclusion, businesses emphasise the newness of their products mainly to attract customers and increase sales. Although this practice can encourage innovation and provide consumers with better products, I believe companies should advertise honestly, and customers should consider whether new features are genuinely useful before making a purchase.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both parts of the question: you explain that businesses highlight newness to attract customers and compete, and you give a clear overall view that this is mostly positive while recognising a risk of misleading advertising. The phone example helps illustrate how new features can encourage a purchase, and the camera-pixel example supports your concern about exaggerated claims. However, some points are less fully developed than others. The claim that this practice benefits a country’s global development is asserted rather than explained, and the positive effects on product quality could use a specific example or clearer reasoning. Develop each main point with a fuller explanation of how or why it occurs, while keeping your balanced position explicit throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining the business motive, a positive view, a contrasting drawback, and a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument easy to follow. You also use signposts such as “For instance,” “However,” and “In conclusion” to show relationships between ideas. At times, though, cohesion is mechanical or unclear. The opening sentence contains several reasons in one long sequence, and “this has a negative factor to” does not connect the contrast smoothly. Some references, such as “by this way,” are also imprecise. Use clearer topic sentences and divide long chains of ideas into sentences with explicit links, so the progression feels more natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “attract customers,” “technology,” “compete,” “features,” and “advertisement,” and you attempt more specific expressions such as “camera quality” and “performance.” However, the range and control are limited by repeated basic wording, especially “new,” “product,” and “customer,” as well as inaccurate word choices and collocations. For example, “customers get attracts” and “the consumer get effect” make parts of the argument difficult to understand. Spelling errors such as “bussiness,” “compitators,” and “unneccessary” are also noticeable. Build a more precise vocabulary for describing consumer behaviour and product innovation, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because,” a relative clause beginning “where,” and a contrast introduced by “Although.” The conclusion is comparatively clear and shows that you can express a balanced position. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in longer sentences. Examples include “every customer want to be a updated” and “customer get attract,” where agreement and verb forms are inaccurate, and “a company launch a new model,” where the verb form does not fit the sentence. Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention. Practise building complex sentences around one clear main clause, then check subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb forms before adding further detail.
