Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this modern era, there is a controversy regarding the business advertisement that the sellers claim their products as new anyhow.I strongly believe that such development is negative because it leads to deceive the customers.

A large number of companies focus more on advertising instead of ensuring the product quality.Sometimes the budget for advertisement is higher than the cost of product.Such ads must contain the new innovation clause.Solely this is a marketing strategy with no merits.

Consumers are also fond of rare, limited edition, brand new products. And such ads are made to target them.Customers purchase goods with good faith after being influenced by such avertisements. This is detrimental to the selling policy and amounts to forged.

It is not forbidden to sell or purchase of old goods so there's no justification of false advertisement. Most of the shopekeepers believe that if they lable their product as new customer will be convinced easily. But this is just a misconception because there are consumers who prefer preowned items.

Moreover following another business ideas is totally acceptable. If we give focus to the products to illustrate-Fridge is used for preservation of food. And most of the fridge looks similar and does the same job.At this point an ad relating to fridge which says it's the first time new technology in the market will be a false claim which is done by several companies.Day by day it is being normalized to accept such ads.It impacts the right of consumers due to misleading information.

To conclude, ads contain new tags are one of the biggest scam in current market.Government sholud take measures to ban such advertisements so that deception rate can be reduced.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you consider the emphasis on novelty negative, mainly because it can mislead consumers, and you maintain this view through the conclusion. You also address why businesses do it, referring to marketing strategies and consumers’ interest in limited editions. These are relevant points, but the explanation of business motives is brief, and some claims need clearer support. For example, the fridge example illustrates how a novelty claim could be false, but it does not explain in detail why companies repeatedly highlight newness. The point about consumers preferring pre-owned goods is also introduced without being connected fully to the argument. Develop each reason with a specific example and explain its consequences to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the ideas generally relate to the central argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because points are placed next to one another without clear explanation of their relationship. For instance, the discussion moves from advertising budgets to an “innovation clause,” then to consumers’ interest in rare products. Linking phrases such as “Moreover” and “To conclude” help signal stages, but some connections are mechanical or unclear. References such as “this” in “This is detrimental to the selling policy” do not clearly identify what they refer to. Organise each paragraph around one main reason and use explicit links between claim, example and consequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “limited edition,” “marketing strategy,” “preowned items,” “misleading information” and “consumers,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at more formal expressions, such as “detrimental” and “justification.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, sometimes making the intended meaning unclear: “amounts to forged,” “new innovation clause,” and “deception rate” are examples. Spelling errors such as “avertisements,” “shopekeepers,” “lable” and “sholud” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural combinations—for example, “amounts to fraud” or “misleading advertising”—and check spelling carefully. This would make your vocabulary more reliable and persuasive.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “because it leads to deceive the customers” and a relative clause in “which is done by several companies.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “leads to deceive” needs a noun or gerund construction, while “Most of the shopekeepers believe that if they lable their product as new customer will be convinced” needs clearer clause punctuation and plural agreement. There are also issues with articles, plurals and sentence boundaries, as in “the biggest scam” and “most of the fridge looks similar.” Use a wider range of accurately controlled clauses, and proofread for agreement, articles and punctuation so that complex ideas remain clear.
