Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is quite easy to notice that businesses nowadays emphasize and even claims that their product is unique. This is a clever marketing technique that is widely used in advertisements to attract more number of customers.
Marketing plays a crucial role in building a brand identity which further helps in increasing the value of the product. Businesses nowadays Creative uses vibrant color schemes along with statements that build personal conenction with the consumer to build a personal connection with audience. For instance, Redbull uses different kinds stunts to impress their customers which leads them thinking redbull is a energy drink which gives you courage, energy and new ideas.
With the rising cut throat competition in the industry, businesses are quite focused to introduce hooks to catch the customer's engagement. Business often claim that their products are very unique, offers new features are often a marketing method which initiates a physcological effect on people's mind. When people come across the idea that they are being offered something unique that is not commonly available elsewhere they are more convinced to buy that product. For example a perfume business named as Dior is quite popular for its refreshing perfumes and scents it sells, their claim of their perfumes being unique is legit as we can't really find matching alternatives for the perfumes Dior sells. This method helps them gathering a large number of consumers.
In my perspective, such advertisements are positive development only if their claim of uniqueness is true. If it's a lie or clever marketing technique and alternatives to that products are available in the market then it's a deceptive approach to engage customers. However, it very essential to understand that such kinds of advertisements are a clever way to attract people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you explain that businesses stress novelty to attract customers and stand out in competition, and you give a conditional view that this is positive when the claims are genuine but deceptive when they are not. The Red Bull and Dior examples make the discussion relevant. However, the reasons are not equally developed: the point about brand identity and visual advertising is introduced but not clearly connected to why novelty is emphasised, while the consumer-psychology explanation is more fully explained. The positive/negative judgement is clear, but the conclusion could develop the distinction further by explaining how misleading claims affect consumers or trust in businesses. More precise explanation of each reason would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall structure: it introduces the topic, presents reasons in separate paragraphs, and ends with your view. Linking phrases such as “For instance,” “With the rising… competition,” and “However” help signal examples and contrast. Some connections are less smooth or clear, though. The opening paragraph says novelty attracts customers, but the next paragraph shifts to brand identity and colour schemes without explicitly linking these ideas. The repeated reference to “personal connection” also makes the progression feel less controlled. In the final paragraph, “However” does not clearly contrast with the preceding point. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main reason, and make references and transitions more precise to strengthen the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “marketing technique,” “brand identity,” “cut throat competition,” “psychological effect,” and “deceptive approach.” These choices show an attempt to discuss advertising and consumer behaviour beyond basic terms. Some less common expressions are inaccurate or awkward, such as “catch the customer's engagement,” “initiates a psychological effect,” and “helps them gathering a large number of consumers.” There are also spelling errors, including “conenction” and “physcological,” and some repetition of “unique” and “customers.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, but more accurate collocations and careful proofreading would make your vocabulary more natural and precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “only if their claim of uniqueness is true” and a subordinate clause beginning “When people come across the idea…”. Meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “businesses… emphasize and even claims” has a subject–verb agreement problem, and “their products… offers new features” also needs agreement and a clearer sentence structure. In “which leads them thinking,” the verb pattern is incomplete; use “leads them to think.” Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “a energy drink” and the long sentence beginning “Business often claim…”. Review agreement, verb patterns, and punctuation to improve accuracy.
