Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address both parts of the prompt by suggesting that businesses advertise new products to attract customers and by presenting a mainly negative view, supported by your sister’s online dress purchase. However, the explanation of why businesses emphasise novelty is brief and unclear, and the positive side is not developed beyond the claim that companies can grow. Your conclusion begins to summarise your view but ends unfinished, so the position is not fully brought together. The response also does not meet the 250-word minimum, which limits the space available to explain and support your ideas. To strengthen the response, explain more clearly why novelty attracts buyers and develop both the benefits and drawbacks with relevant examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some basic organisation: an introduction is followed by a paragraph about business benefits, a paragraph about disadvantages, and a conclusion. The example about your sister is placed with the discussion of online shopping and helps illustrate that point. However, progression is limited, and several ideas are joined mechanically with repeated connectors such as “so” and “Moreover.” The opening paragraph about business growth is difficult to follow, while the final sentence, “To it in put shall, people should,” is incomplete and leaves the conclusion unclear. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each explanation to the main point, and ensure that the conclusion is complete. More precise referencing would also help readers follow who is acting in each sentence.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
Your vocabulary is basic but includes some relevant terms, such as “advertising,” “products,” “quality,” and “social media,” so the general topic can be understood. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to interpret, including “demaits,” “kamashals,” “receie,” and “dispointed.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “newly from every way” and “attractive of their products.” These issues fit a response where vocabulary is minimally adequate but errors sometimes strain the reader. Build a more accurate set of topic phrases and check spelling carefully. For example, use “emphasise the novelty of a product” rather than “newly from every way,” and “attract customers” rather than “customer are attract.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional idea in “When people saw the advertisment … they want to buy,” and you use basic linking structures to explain cause and effect. However, the range is limited, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur frequently. Examples include “many companies focus on their advertisment that their products are,” “a lot of customer are attract,” and “the quality not the same.” These patterns sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses with consistent tense. Check that each sentence has a complete verb phrase and that singular and plural subjects agree with their verbs.
