Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions by suggesting that businesses promote novelty to attract buyers and increase revenue, then presenting possible drawbacks linked to customer criticism. The example of Aarong gives the discussion a relevant local reference. However, the explanation of why novelty is emphasised is repeated in broad terms, and the negative side is less clearly connected to the question: customers checking descriptions or discussing products online does not explain specifically how advertising a product as new can be harmful. Your conclusion says a “balance approach” is reasonable, but it does not clearly state whether you consider the development positive or negative. Develop the reasons with clearer cause-and-effect links and make your overall judgement explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two sides, and a conclusion. The opening signposts that both sides will be considered, and phrases such as “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help readers follow the broad organisation. Within paragraphs, however, ideas sometimes run together: the discussion moves from customer interest to business expansion, taxation and the economy without clearly showing how each point develops the previous one. Connectors such as “As a result” and “consequently” are also used repeatedly, sometimes mechanically. The final paragraph is too brief to bring the argument together. Use clearer topic sentences, organise each paragraph around one main reason, and make references between sentences more precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “revenue,” “marketing,” “controversy” and “economy,” and you try to vary expressions for products and businesses. However, spelling and word-choice errors are frequent enough to make parts of the response difficult to understand, as in “comtemporarey,” “fasinated,” “qualityfull” and “entroprunur.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “extend their sell” and “make controvers about the products.” Repetition of “individuals,” “products” and “traders” limits the range further. Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than using many unfamiliar forms: for example, “increase sales,” “attract consumers” and “criticise a product.” Proofreading spelling and choosing simpler, precise vocabulary would make your meaning clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause beginning “This is because” and a conditional sentence beginning “if they found anything…”. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries occur throughout. For example, “every entroprunur want” needs a singular verb, while “most of the traders spends” has a subject–verb agreement error. The conditional “if they found… they will not buy” also shifts tense inconsistently. Commas and full stops are frequently misplaced, creating run-on sentences and making relationships between ideas harder to follow. Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then add subordinate clauses and conditionals while checking agreement and tense consistency.
