Student answer (Band 5.0)
Technology is getting better day by day and also reducing the man power and coverting their work to machinery. Usage of machinery is an example of an need of a human being. Many companies make different items for human usage and make their life easier which is an good thing, but their are some companies which introduce changes in their products, so people can buy them that they are new or with latest technology , but in some waye it is wastage of money, many people just spend their money for minor changes which is not an good thing and when there will be this much of manufacturing than there will be also too much of air pollution which is not good for our health. If the new product which is introduced by the company is really with major changes and can be helpful than people should buy it for betterment in their work by this people can work easily , So i think it is an positive development companies should make new models with better change and if see that pollution and wastage of money point , the pollution is the responsiblity of government to comeover it not of company their are many workers working over their if they stop manufacturing where will they and wastage of money when you buy that thing which already available if you are buying latest version thats not wastage of money. So in my perspective buying new things is an good idea.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both questions: you suggest that companies promote newness to attract buyers, and you give a generally positive view, while acknowledging wasteful spending and pollution. However, the reasons for businesses’ emphasis on novelty are only briefly stated, and the discussion of whether this is positive is not fully developed. For example, the claim that people buy products because they are “new or with latest technology” needs explanation or a specific example. Your position also becomes difficult to follow when you first criticise minor changes, then argue that buying the latest version is not wasteful. The response is one word below the required minimum, so it does not meet the task’s length requirement. Develop each main point and make your overall judgement consistent.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a recognisable line of thought: you introduce technological change, discuss benefits and drawbacks, and finish with your opinion. However, the response is presented as one long paragraph, so the reader cannot easily distinguish the explanation of advertising from the evaluation of its effects. Ideas also move abruptly, particularly from pollution to workers’ jobs and then to whether buying a newer version wastes money. Linking phrases such as “but,” “so,” and “if” are used, but they do not always show the relationship between ideas clearly. Divide the essay into an introduction, separate body paragraphs for the reasons and your evaluation, and a conclusion. Use clear topic sentences and refer back to each point consistently.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “latest technology,” “manufacturing,” “air pollution,” and “minor changes,” which helps communicate your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or awkward, sometimes making the meaning harder to follow. Examples include “reducing the man power,” “for human usage,” and “comeover it.” There are also spelling and word-form errors such as “coverting,” “waye,” and “responsiblity.” Aim to use more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. For instance, describe companies as “promoting new features” or “marketing updated products,” and explain that consumers may “spend money on minor upgrades.” This would make your argument clearer and more natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, using clauses with “which,” “if,” and “when,” and you communicate a general opinion. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty or difficult to follow. For example, “Many companies make different items … and make their life easier” has unclear agreement and reference, while the sentence beginning “If the new product…” runs on through several separate ideas. Articles and agreement are also frequently inaccurate, as in “an need,” “an good thing,” and “their is.” Punctuation does not reliably separate complete thoughts. Practise building shorter, accurate sentences first, then combine related ideas with correctly formed clauses and full stops.
