Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays, businesses often highlight the new features of their products in the advertisement. It is because companies want to allure the customers and be competitive in market.I think its positive impact but on some point it can also be misleading.
The primary reason is businesses want to stand out from their competitors by introducing new ideas, designs and attractive features which can help them to sell their products. They use new technology and always be in vogue. Moreover, consumers are always attract by the new innovative item by seeing them in the advertise because they think that it will make their life easier. For example,Apple brand is always launching their new mobile phones in the market by upgrading their camera's quality or give extra storage.Recently they launch iphone 18 which is in burgundy color and make the phone looks classy so it is in trend.Recently one boy from maharashtra loss his life due to buying an iphone in stubborness.
However, some companies exhagrate some minor change appear into revolutionary. Sometime because of attractive advertisement customers can be mislead by purchasing unnecessary things. For example sometimes people replace their smartphones when the new model get launched like recently when iphone 18 released people get crazy about buying that thing even its not in their priority.
I think this trend is positive for the businesses which are really a good competitor and sell products without misleading people.Although this trend is also maintain the product quality.Sometimes it can be worst scenario because customers buy expensive stuff for the class and standards which might affect their financial status.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the prompt: you explain that businesses promote novelty to attract customers and compete, and you give a qualified view that the trend can be positive but misleading. The examples about Apple’s phone upgrades and consumers replacing phones support the discussion, and your conclusion restates your position. However, the positive side is less fully explained than the risks: the claim that novelty “maintain[s] the product quality” is not clearly connected to how advertising benefits consumers or businesses. The story about a boy losing his life is also not explained enough to show its relevance. Develop each main reason with a clear explanation and a directly relevant example, and make your overall judgement more decisive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to reasons, drawbacks and a conclusion. Paragraphing generally helps the reader follow the discussion, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “However” and “I think” indicate the direction of your argument. At times, though, the progression within paragraphs is uneven: the example about a boy’s death appears abruptly after discussion of phone design, without a clear link to the point being made. Some connections are also mechanical or unclear, particularly the shift from misleading advertising to product quality in the final paragraph. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, then explain how each example supports it; clearer referencing would also make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “stand out,” “competitors,” “innovative,” “revolutionary” and “misleading,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at less common expressions, but several choices or forms are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “allure the customers,” “always be in vogue,” “exhagrate” and “in stubborness.” Phrases such as “in their priority” and “for the class and standards” are difficult to interpret precisely. These issues sometimes make the intended meaning less clear, even though the overall argument remains understandable. Build accuracy by learning common word partnerships—for example, “attract customers,” “exaggerate the benefits” and “within their budget”—and check spelling and word forms during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “Although” and a reason clause beginning “because.” The main ideas are usually understandable, but some errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction reduce accuracy. Examples include “consumers are always attract,” “they launch iphone 18,” “people replace their smartphones when the new model get launched,” and “this trend is also maintain.” The final sentence beginning “Although” is not a complete independent sentence, and several sentences run together without appropriate punctuation. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and tense consistency, and make sure each sentence has a complete main clause. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied sentence attempts clearer.
