Student answer (Band 5.5)
Now days with the advancement of technolgy and competition, many companies adverties their product as new and improved. This caught the attention of customers, make them curious to buy the product. Some companies mention " Limited stock" with their product, which automatically make customers to get the product before it finish. This type of stratagies are used to attract the customers. It has both positive and negative effect on development.
As an example, let say recenty a skin brand start theiir onlinne compaign and advertise their product as "You can get 2 piece of same product in the price of one". Mention that it is a limited time offer. I also order the product. After that when I get the product, I check the label and the difference in the price is not more like its slightly cheap ith minimum of 20% discount. Also dilivery charges make it same like buying 2 product with same price. Further more the offer is still continue with same advertisment.
In this type of advertisement, the companies know about the phycolgy of people, so they do branding in that way like it seem very cheap and worth it at the same time. Some times it lead to fake advertisement, like they show the product different and deliver totally different or very low quality product.
In conclusion companies emphasize newness to attract customers in compitative market, and although it can cause unnecessory spending, its benifits in driving innovation outweigh the drawbacks. But for me it is positive because now we have online reviews we can check and order so no fruad can happens.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions: you explain that businesses stress newness to attract attention and customers, and you give a view that the development is positive overall. The example of the online skin-care offer also supports your point about misleading promotions, while the conclusion acknowledges unnecessary spending and potential benefits from innovation. However, the positive/negative discussion is uneven: the drawbacks are illustrated in detail, but the claimed benefit of “driving innovation” is not explained or supported with an example. The final point about online reviews is relevant, but the claim that they mean “no fraud can happen” is too absolute and does not fully resolve the concern about deceptive advertising. Develop both sides more evenly and make your position consistent with the evidence.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress from why companies advertise newness, to a personal example of a promotion, and then to the risks of this strategy. Linking phrases such as “As an example,” “Further more” and “In conclusion” help signal these stages. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. The opening says the development has both positive and negative effects, but the body mainly develops negative effects before the conclusion asserts that benefits outweigh drawbacks. The example also moves from the offer to delivery charges without clearly explaining how this proves the wider point. Use clearer links between claims and evidence, and organise the discussion so each paragraph develops one side of your evaluation.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “limited time offer,” “branding,” “customers,” “discount” and “online reviews.” These choices make the main ideas understandable, and phrases such as “attract customers” and “fake advertisement” show an attempt to discuss marketing effects. However, spelling errors are frequent, including “technolgy,” “adverties,” “stratagies” and “compitative,” and some word choices or collocations are imprecise, such as “the difference in the price is not more” and “same like buying.” These issues reduce accuracy and sometimes make the reader pause. Build a reliable spelling check into revision and learn natural collocations for describing prices, promotions and consumer behaviour; this would make your vocabulary more precise and controlled.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “which automatically make customers…” and a contrast in “although it can cause unnecessary spending…”. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction are common enough to affect fluency. For example, “This caught the attention of customers, make them curious” needs a consistent verb structure, while “companies know about the phycolgy of people” is followed by the unclear construction “so they do branding in that way like it seem.” The conclusion also has agreement and modal errors in “no fruad can happens.” Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb, and use complex clauses only when you can control their grammar.
