Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the pace of modern technology , branding has became a crucial process to aware people about the goods . To make the advertisements eye-captivating, brands are generally presenting their ads in unique way. I believe that it has both positive and negative development . There are numerous reasons explaining above notion.
Due to the increase in competition, brands are presenting their products in a new ways . There are myriads of chocolates brands globally . To make unique impression of a particular chocolates , the companies tempt people to buy their products. For instance, the kinder joy had featured young children in their advertisement , and it also provides small toy along with the chocolates , which gained success in attracting children 's attention towards it. Another reason is to increase the sales and to make more profit .
As advertisements had proven good source of promoting the goods in the market , companies are able to make huge turnover every year which is economically beneficial as it increase gross domestic production of the country . It also develops the creativity and cognitive skills of young children , as nowadays, advertisements are presented with good humor and story.
Many brands present their products unethically and inappropriately. For instance, cigarette brands in US used pictures of women in sexual way to tempt the attention of males towards it. It influenced youths in awful manner. Some products are represented very appealing but it does not give expected results , such as haircare and skincare products.
In my perception , advertisements should be made in appropriate manner and not in immoral way. As it hurts the sentiments of the society . Though it had major advantages. Promotion of products should be done in appealing way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions: you explain that businesses highlight novelty to stand out in competition and increase sales, and you give a mixed view of the effects. The Kinder Joy example supports the competition point, while the discussion of misleading skincare claims and inappropriate cigarette advertising gives a relevant negative perspective. However, the positive side is less fully explained: the claims that advertising raises national production and develops children’s cognitive skills are asserted rather than clearly demonstrated. Your final position—that promotion should be appealing but not immoral—is understandable, though it could be stated more directly and consistently as a judgement on whether this trend is positive or negative. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation and a specific, well-linked example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to reasons, effects, drawbacks and a concluding view. Paragraphing helps separate these points, and phrases such as “For instance” signal an example. However, progression between ideas is sometimes abrupt: the paragraph about competition shifts quickly to profit, and the next moves from economic benefits to children’s skills without explaining the connection. Some linking phrases, including “There are numerous reasons explaining above notion,” are vague, while “Though it had major advantages” does not clearly connect to the preceding sentence. Use topic sentences that identify each paragraph’s main point, then develop it in a logical sequence with clear references and transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range for the topic, including “competition,” “turnover,” “gross domestic production,” “unethically,” and “tempt,” and your meaning is generally clear. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “eye-captivating” and “myriads,” but some choices are unnatural or imprecise in context. For example, “aware people about the goods” and “make unique impression” do not express the intended ideas idiomatically; “advertising” or “inform consumers” and “create a distinctive impression” would be more natural. There are also spelling and word-form slips, such as “became” where “become” is needed, though verb form is assessed under grammar. Aim for accurate collocations and avoid using elaborate wording when a precise, familiar phrase is clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a reason clause beginning “Due to the increase in competition” and a sentence linking advertising with economic benefits. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include “branding has became” instead of “branding has become,” “it increase gross domestic production” instead of “it increases,” and “There are myriads of chocolates brands,” where the plural construction is not controlled. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention: “in unique way” needs an article, and “As it hurts the sentiments of the society” is a dependent clause presented as a sentence. Review verb forms, agreement, articles and punctuation, while continuing to practise varied sentence structures.
