Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the prompt: you suggest that businesses highlight new features to attract customers, and you give a qualified view that this is beneficial but has drawbacks. The examples of smartphones and cooking tools are relevant, and you mention possible problems such as bugs and high spending. However, the reasons businesses advertise novelty are not clearly explained beyond attracting buyers, and the positive effects on consumers remain broad—for example, “a lot of opportunity” is not illustrated with a specific outcome. Your position is also difficult to follow in places because the introduction and conclusion do not clearly weigh the benefits against the disadvantages. Develop each main reason with a clear explanation and a concrete example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs beginning “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the main direction of the argument. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: several ideas are joined together without showing how one leads to the next, and the first body paragraph shifts from advertising to technology’s opportunities. Linking expressions such as “moreover” and “meanwhile” are repeated or do not always express the intended relationship. Some references, including “that thing” and “it,” are unclear. Organise each paragraph around one main point, then explain and exemplify it, using linking words only where they clarify the connection.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “advertising,” “improving,” “advancement,” “drawbacks,” and “obstacles.” These choices show an effort to discuss both benefits and risks. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling, and word-form errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “different form older,” “produce,” “real vibes,” and “globs.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “make there produces perfect” and “spend excess of amount.” Aim for accurate topic-specific collocations rather than repeating general words such as “people,” “products,” and “a lot.” Checking spelling and choosing precise terms will make your ideas clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You make some attempts to combine ideas using clauses and contrast, for example, “whereas lot of people can not apart” and “because people spend excess of amount on new tools.” However, many sentences contain errors in basic sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation, which can make the meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “when company advertising their products” lacks a correctly formed subject and verb, while “some companies creating” needs a finite verb. Capitalisation and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in the opening paragraph. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Pay particular attention to subject–verb agreement, articles, and separating complete sentences with appropriate punctuation.
