Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both parts of the question: you suggest that businesses highlight new features to attract buyers and increase sales, and you discuss both benefits and drawbacks. Your position is broadly positive about competition and product improvement, while recognising that concealing a product’s weaknesses can harm consumers. However, the reasons for emphasising novelty are not fully explained, and the examples about Chinese phones and Indian companies remain general rather than showing specific evidence. The discussion also repeats the link between competition and quality without developing it further. To strengthen the response, explain more clearly why novelty appeals to customers or helps a business stand out, then support each main point with a specific, relevant example and a consistently stated overall view.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, paragraphs presenting advantages, and a paragraph on disadvantages. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “However,” and “As a result” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within the body is sometimes repetitive: the second and third paragraphs both say that competition encourages better products, without clearly adding a distinct point. Some connections are also difficult to follow, particularly the move from companies advertising phones as best to increased sales and profit. Referencing such as “their product” and “their smart phone” can be unclear. Give each paragraph one main purpose, arrange its explanation and example in a clear sequence, and use linking phrases only where the relationship between ideas is precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “compitition,” “creative products,” “features,” “quality,” and “value for money.” This shows an effort to discuss advertising and consumer outcomes, but the usable range is limited and several word choices or forms make meaning unclear. For example, “present the products new from different product” and “showing only new in product” do not express the intended idea naturally; “company profite increasable” is also difficult to interpret. Spelling errors such as “beleave,” “diffrent,” and “qaulity” are frequent enough to distract the reader. Build a bank of accurate topic phrases—such as “promote new features” and “differentiate a product from competitors”—and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some complex sentence patterns, including a contrast clause beginning “Although” and explanations introduced by “This is because.” However, sentence structures are limited overall, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction occur frequently, sometimes making the intended meaning hard to follow. For example, “people are only beleave in what the see” has an incorrect verb pattern, while “different company make compitition” lacks appropriate agreement and a clear grammatical construction. The opening sentence also joins several ideas without reliable punctuation. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using controlled clauses. Pay particular attention to subject–verb agreement, verb forms after infinitives, and complete sentence boundaries.
