Student answer (Band 6.0)
The buisness marketers exactly know the game on how to hype their products stating their novelity. However, its not always true that their materials are particulalry different from their competitors in the market. In one case, they do so to attract their customers and also due to the growing competition among different companies. In my opinion, its good in some ways and also has a negative impact.
In my perspective, one reason is that, to enhance a company's economy and profit, intelligent and smart marketing is very crucial. It is because individuals believe in what they see around them more than what they hear. When a company runs ads about its products, its main aim is to attract as much people as possible, and that is only possible if it claim its creations as highly modern and different from others, leaving a positive impact.
Secondly, the rivalry among manufacturing industries is created due to the pressure to outgrow each other in the development. One company may bring their old articles and present them in ways that claim them to be completely new. And that is wrong, as it deceives the community. For example, last week my friend showed me a pair of shoes she bought from a brand in the city. She said thst she bought them from new arrival collection in $250 but later she got to know that it was their article from previous year and they just tagged it as new collection and no one noticed. So, it shows that the companies are playing with the people and calling it development.
In conclusion, the advertising is good in some ways and also leaves negative imprint on the other end. The core need is the development and not the competition. When brands compete with each other they focus more on quantity and not on quality of things they manufacture. So, the ads should be purely about the products that are novel and they should not exaggerate wrong statements.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the question: you explain that businesses promote novelty to attract customers and respond to competition, and you give a mixed judgement that this can be positive but also misleading. The example of the shoes labelled as a new collection supports your concern about deceptive advertising. However, the positive side is less fully explained: the claim that advertising leaves a “positive impact” is not developed with a clear benefit to consumers or businesses. The conclusion introduces a further point about quantity versus quality, but this is asserted rather than demonstrated. To strengthen the response, explain the benefits and drawbacks with comparable detail and make your overall judgement more precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure, moving from an introduction to two explanatory paragraphs and a conclusion. The sequence from attracting customers to competitive pressure is understandable, and signposts such as “Secondly” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “In one case” does not clearly introduce the two reasons that follow, while “leaving a positive impact” has an uncertain reference. The second body paragraph combines competition, deception, and a personal example without clearly separating the explanation from the evaluation. Use more precise links between claims and evidence, and ensure each paragraph develops one main point before moving to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “attract,” “rivalry,” “deceives,” and “exaggerate,” and the main ideas remain understandable. There are also attempts at less common expressions such as “negative imprint” and “novelty.” However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word choices reduce control: “buisness,” “novelity,” and “particulalry” are misspelled, while “enhance a company's economy” and “playing with the people” are not natural choices in this context. Some repetition of “new” and “company” also limits variety. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning collocations, such as “increase a company’s profits” and “mislead consumers,” rather than relying on approximate phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if it claim its creations as highly modern” and a relative clause in “the shoes she bought from a brand in the city.” Most of the argument is still clear, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “if it claim,” the incorrect construction “attract as much people as possible,” and tense or clause problems in “later she got to know that it was their article from previous year.” Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “from previous year” and the comma splice in “In conclusion, the advertising is good … and also leaves.” Review agreement, countable nouns, articles, and punctuation, then proofread complex sentences carefully.
