Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You give a clear opinion in the conclusion, stating that you “fully agree” this is a positive development, and you mention advertising’s potential to attract customers and increase business profits. However, the task is only partially addressed: the question asks why businesses emphasise novelty, but your response does not explain this clearly. The examples about perfume and wooden material are vague, and the claim that customers may “report you” is not explained or connected convincingly to the issue. The discussion also shifts between positive and negative effects without developing either side, so the reasons supporting your final position remain limited. Explain the motives behind novelty claims—such as standing out from competitors—and support your view with a specific, relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
Your response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of your answer. However, progression within the paragraphs is not always clear: the second body paragraph moves from benefits to possible reputational harm and then back to the conclusion that the development is positive. Some links, including “Moreover” and “But,” connect sentences without making the relationship between the ideas sufficiently clear. The conclusion also repeats your opinion rather than drawing together the reasons. Organise each paragraph around one main point, explain it, and use linking expressions only where they accurately show the connection.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-related vocabulary, including “advertisement,” “products,” “profit,” and “impression,” so the reader can identify the general topic. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or unnatural choices make parts of the response difficult to understand. For example, “achieve more expenses than your demand” does not clearly express the intended business benefit, while “loseful” and “respectful” do not fit the meanings required. There are also spelling errors such as “salling,” “develpoment,” and “benefical.” Build a more precise vocabulary for discussing marketing and consumer behaviour, and check spelling and collocations. For instance, use “increase sales” rather than “achieve more expenses.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if you have launch a new variety of perfume” and a contrast introduced by “But.” However, complex sentences are often inaccurate, and errors occur frequently enough to make some ideas hard to follow. Examples include “if you have launch” instead of a correctly formed verb phrase, “it can be prove,” and “advertising your material helps you to sale your product.” Subject–verb agreement and sentence construction also need attention, as in “advertisement is one of the essential and biggest source.” Practise accurate verb forms, agreement, and infinitive patterns, then proofread each sentence to ensure its grammatical relationships are clear.
