Student answer (Band 5.0)
In present, businesses usually emphasise that their products are new in some way by advertising. They do that it for many kind of reasons. This essay will describe why it can be a positive development and I will also share my opinion by my own perspective.
On the first hand, they do it in advertising because it has many kind of benefits. Firstly, people will get attracted by their ad because they will must be think that the product has new upgrade, and they will use or buy it. For example, people need just share though advertising. For this reason, they need it because this is just fulfill their neccessarity. Secondly, people just like to buy yhose things what thery can trust like what they listen from someone. For example, when someoen who is your neighbour or relative buy athing and he said the item was good, you will surely buy it. That's why they just promote their products a lot, so people can hear or know about it. By the way, it can be positive or negative development, but it is totally depend on the product quality. If the product quality is good, it must be a good thing to promote and it will be positive development.
On the other hand, some bad quality products can be harmful for people if they promote their product. At firsrt, people buy trustable rpoducts what they had listen from someone they know and it can be dangerous if they purchase it. Fot example, if they but these products by their headlines, it will be a loss for them.At second, sometimes some good company are not able to promote their products because of some financial issue. For instance, they can not launch any ad for their products, and people just don't buy it because they don't know it. At last, I think everything depend on product type. If the product type is good that will make positive impacts or if it is bad, it will be nefgative.
In conclusion, people want to buy what they saw in news or advertising. For this reason, good products for positive development, and bad one for negative. Positivfe and negative development is depend by products.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both questions: you suggest that advertising attracts buyers and spreads information, and you give a conditional view that promotion is positive for good-quality products but negative for poor-quality ones. However, the reasons are only partly developed. The neighbour example mainly explains word-of-mouth trust, rather than why businesses emphasise that a product is new, and the point about companies lacking advertising funds does not clearly answer whether this trend is positive or negative. Your position also shifts between a conditional judgement and a general conclusion, so the reader is left without a firm overall view. To strengthen the response, explain why novelty appeals to consumers and state clearly which side you consider more significant. The response meets the stated length requirement; the 10 words copied from the prompt are excluded from the count.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help identify stages of the discussion. However, the overall progression is not consistently clear: the first body paragraph moves from product upgrades to personal recommendations, while the second introduces companies’ financial difficulties, which is not closely connected to the main comparison. Several transitions are mechanical or confusing, including “At second” and “By the way,” and repeated references to “positive or negative development” do not create a clear line of reasoning. Group each paragraph around one main idea, connect examples directly to that idea, and use clearer referencing so readers can follow how each point supports your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “advertising,” “product quality,” “promote” and “financial issue,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several phrases are inaccurate or awkward, sometimes making the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “people need just share though advertising,” “trustable products,” and “positive impacts.” There are also frequent spelling errors, such as “neccessarity,” “rpoducts,” “nefgative” and “Positivfe,” which reduce clarity and control. Aim for more precise language about consumer behaviour and product innovation, and check spelling carefully. For example, “trustworthy products” is more natural than “trustable products,” while “meet consumer needs” would express the idea more clearly than “fulfill their neccessarity.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If the product quality is good…” and a relative clause in “what they listen from someone.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some ideas difficult to interpret. Examples include “They do that it,” “people will must be think,” “it is totally depend,” and “everything depend,” which show problems with verb forms and agreement. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “buy athing” and “it will be a loss for them.At second.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clear supporting clause, then check verb forms, subject–verb agreement, articles and punctuation before adding more complexity.
