Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this century, many new businesses have been establishing which have made competetion in many sectors where businesses have used advertising as a source to indroduce their product among general public as a unique product from the current product. Where many businesses claim the oppsoite than their product. So i think advertising with true information is good without any false claim.
Firstly, as the growth of many businesses competetion have also rose which makes many companies to advertise and emphasise their product as unique product in certain way than the product in the market. As customers range is limited and people to be attracted companies just claim more features or facilities or uniqueness in the product.
Secondly, inorder to attract customers many companies also share false information just to attract customers. For an example Red Bull, a energy drink company advertised it product as "it gives you wing" inorder to attract customers who like to do thrills. the company was later sued and fined for created false information among general public. Similarly many companies have been advertising in the similar way where they claim their product and unique which creates a negative impact among the public. The other point is many companies do claim many negative products as junk food, alcohol, chewing tobacoo and healthy and having no side effect just to get customers which attract many people to consume it.
In conclusion, many businesses emphasise their product as unique which is good for marketing but just inorder to show difference among the competetors, sharing false information just to attract customers which have been trends among marketing creates negative development to the public.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both questions: you explain that businesses stress novelty to stand out in competition and attract customers, and you judge misleading claims negatively. The Red Bull example and the point about unhealthy products give the response relevant support. However, the explanation of why novelty is emphasised remains fairly general, and the example is not fully connected to the specific claim that products are presented as new. Your position is also not entirely consistent: the opening says truthful advertising is good, while the conclusion says emphasising uniqueness is good for marketing but focuses mainly on false claims. Clarify whether you consider the trend positive, negative, or mixed, then develop that judgement with a more directly relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. This helps readers identify the main points about competition and misleading advertising. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the first paragraph moves from competition to limited customer numbers and then to claims about features without explaining each link. The second paragraph combines the Red Bull example, a general statement about negative impacts, and claims about junk food, alcohol, and tobacco. Some linking phrases, such as “The other point,” are vague, while repeated use of “many companies” makes the development feel repetitive. Group related ideas more clearly and use precise references to connect each example to your argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “competition,” “advertise,” “unique,” “false information,” and “negative impact,” so the central meaning is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “many businesses/companies” and “attract customers.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “competetion,” “indroduce,” “oppsoite,” and “tobacoo,” which reduce accuracy and can interrupt reading. Some combinations are unnatural, for example “customers range is limited” and “claim their product and unique.” Build a more precise set of expressions for product differentiation and misleading promotion, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “where” and “which,” and you use sequencing phrases to organise points. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “as the growth of many businesses competetion have also rose” has problems with clause structure, agreement, and verb form; “the company was later sued and fined for created false information” also uses an incorrect verb pattern. Articles and sentence boundaries are inconsistent, as in “a energy drink company” and the opening’s run-on construction. Practise forming complete clauses with accurate subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and articles before adding subordinate clauses.
