Student answer (Band 5.5)
Job plays an imperative role in human' life to earn money for completing the basic needs. However, in this current era, many organisations aim to advertise their product to make sure that their products are new. Although, there are plethora of causes behind this statement, yet i consider that it is totally a negative development. I will discuss my viewpoints in the upcoming segments.
Having a cursory glance, there are number of reasons why businesses do this ? Firstly, enterprises want to boost their sale by advertising that their items are new. To elaborate this, nowadays competition is getting higher and higher and every organisation want to hit the peak level so due to that they do advertising to show their items are brand new. Secondly, companies want to clear all the available stocks. To explain this, as everyone knows companies have a lot of stock available in their store which is not getting saled, so for clearing that stock they make ads by having in focus that their products are new. Hence, these are the main reasons behind this trend.
However, this is totally a negative development because sometimes these kind of products are outdated. Going deeper into details, by getting influenced from the advertisements people start buying items which are
outdated and when individuals start using these products they face alot of problems. So people should aware themselves before buying anything.
In conclusion, after analysing aforementioned paragraphs i firmly believe that people should check all the items clearly before puchasing it because it not only leads to the harmful impacts but also the wastage of money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear negative position and offer two reasons for businesses highlighting novelty: increasing sales amid competition and clearing stock. However, the response only partially addresses the task because the explanation of the second reason is unclear: saying products are “not getting saled” and then advertised as new does not show convincingly why this strategy works. Your discussion of the negative effects is also brief and general; the claim that buyers encounter “outdated” products and “a lot of problems” needs a specific example or explanation. The conclusion focuses on consumers checking items rather than fully summarising why the trend is negative. Develop each point with a clear cause-and-effect explanation and support your opinion more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph explaining businesses’ motives, a paragraph giving your view, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical: phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Hence,” and “Going deeper into details” announce connections without always making the reasoning clear. The shift from companies clearing stock to advertising it as new, for example, needs a more explicit link. Some references are also unclear, including “these kind of products” and “it” in the conclusion. Use fewer formulaic transitions and connect each claim to its explanation with precise referencing.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “advertise,” “competition,” “brand new,” “outdated,” and “harmful impacts.” These choices make the subject clear, and some less common expressions show an effort to vary your language. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “boost their sale,” “items are new,” “not getting saled,” and “in focus.” Spelling and word-form errors, including “alot” and “puchasing,” also reduce accuracy. The repeated use of “products,” “items,” and “companies” limits flexibility. Build a more precise vocabulary for marketing and consumer behaviour, and check collocations and spelling when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and attempts at longer, complex sentences, for example the sentence beginning “Although there are plethora of causes…” and the explanation of how competition affects advertising. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to process. Examples include “human' life,” “there are number of reasons,” “every organisation want,” and “people should aware themselves.” Punctuation and sentence boundaries also need attention, particularly in “Having a cursory glance, there are number of reasons why businesses do this ?” and the missing space after “stocks.” Practise accurate articles, subject–verb agreement, and complete verb patterns, then proofread each sentence.
