Student answer (Band 5.5)
The advertisement businesses are very popular in the world.Every brand are used advertising to the promotin of your brand.Advertising businesses nowadays usually emphasise that thier products are new in some ways.
I will dicsuss in this topic in detail.
There are many reasons the companies say thier product are new.So the first of all a lot of competition of the markets.Every market ar the sell more products of this brand. And show the more advertising on this brand they say that the product is new and the people were interested to buy it.Secondly the customers are more interested the new products because customers say that new product is more faster better and modern to the old product. For example a mobile phone company launch new mobile and advertising the mobile customers say that the features of this mobile are more than other mobile.
Secondly,The bussiness is negative development some markets are only change the name and packing of the thing and say that through the advertising the product is new and modern faster and better but the product is not new. The market sell the product to the customers in new product price but the product is not new. The markets are the cheat the customers and waste your money. The custemer are go the home and check your product because the product is not new the coustemer is very unhappy of this market.A lot of waste money and time in this old product.
To conclude,in my opinion advertising say their product are new to ttract the customers and compete with other companies.Althrough it can bring some new technology,I think it is mostly negative development. The market are cheat the customers through the advertising businesses.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions: you explain that businesses stress novelty to compete and attract customers, and you give a clear overall view that this is mostly negative. The mobile-phone example helps illustrate why consumers may respond to claims of improved features, while the point about changing only a product’s name or packaging supports your criticism of misleading advertising. These ideas are relevant, but they are not developed equally: the reasons for emphasising novelty are stated briefly, and the example could explain more specifically how genuine innovation benefits buyers. Your position is clearest in the conclusion; make it explicit earlier and support each main point with fuller explanation to strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable introduction, body paragraphs and conclusion, and the reader can follow the broad movement from reasons for novelty claims to their possible harm. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to track. For example, “Every market ar the sell more products” does not clearly connect the competition point to the next sentence, and “Secondly” is used to introduce the negative view after another “Secondly” has already introduced a reason. Linking phrases such as “So the first of all” and “To conclude” are also mechanical. Organise each paragraph around one clear main idea, then explain it and give an example; use more precise transitions and references to make the relationships between sentences clearer.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “competition,” “features,” “modern,” “customers” and “advertising,” so the main topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “new,” “product” and “market.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, such as “promotin,” “thier,” “ttract” and “cheat the customers,” which can make the intended meaning less clear or sound unnatural. Aim to use more precise collocations for business and consumer behaviour, and check spelling carefully. Replacing repeated basic terms with accurate alternatives will make the argument clearer and more appropriate for an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a reason-and-result structure in “they say that the product is new and the people were interested to buy it.” However, control of sentence structure and basic grammar is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to understand. Examples include “Every brand are used advertising,” “the customers are more interested the new products,” and “The markets are the cheat the customers.” Subject–verb agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries need particular attention. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clauses using “because,” “when” or “which.” Careful proofreading for agreement and missing grammatical words would improve clarity.
