Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the period of globalisation, many businesses are now using different techniques of advertising to increase their profit. The companies use many new ways of advertising to make their product look new.

There are couple of reasons why companies do emphasises on advertising and make the products new in some or the other way. The central to this is their profit making intension. First, to reach out to more people using different ways to increase profit. Second, to reach at the top in the competition market . Third, the new products they introduce using new price range to add profit. Fourth, sometimes there is a public demand to have new products.

Supporting the new products using different advertisement techniques, i think it is a positive develpoment looking at the public benefit. People get the new products with lots of improvement . Further people will get more options and choices to choose the best product for them. Moreover, the customisation of products also increase the sale and downfall of the product as people will get the right product which is best for them as also which suits them.

There are also negatives of what this business worlds do.

Many a times just to increase their profit they dublicate the same product in a new way. Their profit motives behind this makes the sale immoral and many a times fraud behind this happens which sometimes

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You address both questions by suggesting that businesses stress novelty to increase profits, compete, and respond to public demand, and you state that this is positive because consumers gain improved products and more choice. However, the response only partially develops these points: for example, “reach at the top in the competition market” is not explained, and the benefits are asserted rather than supported with a specific example. You also introduce drawbacks such as duplicating products and possible fraud, but the final sentence breaks off, leaving this discussion incomplete and making your overall position less fully established. The response is 17 words below the required minimum, which further limits the development of your answer. Explain the reasons more clearly, support your view with a relevant example, and complete the discussion of drawbacks.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is some basic organisation: the response moves from an introduction to reasons, then benefits, and finally drawbacks. Numbering the reasons with “First,” “Second,” and “Third” helps signal the list, while “Further” and “Moreover” indicate additional benefits. However, the progression is not sustained: the reasons are presented as a list without explanation, and the shift from calling the development positive to discussing negatives is not resolved. Several ideas are crowded into long sentences, and the final sentence ends at “which sometimes,” so the conclusion and overall direction are missing. Paragraphing is present but does not yet create a clear, complete argument. Use topic sentences, connect each reason to its explanation, and finish with a concluding paragraph that restates your balanced position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “globalisation,” “competition,” “public demand,” “customisation,” and “profit motives,” so the reader can generally follow the subject. However, the range is limited by repeated use of “new,” “profit,” and “products,” and several expressions are inaccurate or awkward, such as “profit making intension,” “competition market,” and “sale immoral.” Spelling errors, including “develpoment” and “dublicate,” also reduce the accuracy of the vocabulary. These choices sometimes make the intended meaning less clear, particularly in the discussion of fraud and product duplication. Build a more precise set of advertising and consumer-related terms, and check spelling and collocations when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “There are couple of reasons why…” and a complex explanation introduced by “as.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to interpret. Examples include “There are couple of reasons,” “companies do emphasises,” and “the customisation of products also increase,” where articles, verb forms, or subject–verb agreement are not controlled. The sentence about customisation also combines several ideas without a clear grammatical structure. Punctuation and spacing are inconsistent, and the final sentence is incomplete. Practise forming accurate subject–verb patterns and complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check each sentence for agreement, articles, and punctuation.
