Student answer (Band 5.0)
People have different views on whether advertising influence us positively or negatively. I strongly believe that the positive development of advertising campaign outweight the negative sides.
There are several reasons behind advertisements positive sides, one possible reason is that nowadays businesses influencing and making awarness among their consumers to buy their products. In addition, they usually emphasise that their products are new in different ways. When a business make an advertising campaign online or offline, it helps them to create a positive influence among their potential customers. For example, at present people are using digital gadgets widely, thats why, when they visit social media, they often see online advertising. As a result, they make an intention to know more about the product and they often visit product page to explore more. Additionally, businesses emphasise that their products are new in a different ways and most of the time its true because they maybe made some changes on their products for instance reduced price, extended quantity and so on.
On the other hand, sometimes business owner use some negative thinking to manupulate their customers to buy their products. One key reason is that businesses use this technique to attract consumers attention. Another significant reason could be that they want to make more money than past, consequently, they emphasise that their products are new in some way. However, it is totally fake. Therefore, it influences people in a negative way like they loss their turst and positive mindset towards advertisements.
Considering the reasons mentioned avobe, it appears to me that it is totally good idea to emphasise every time that their products are new in some way, if they really made any modifications on their product.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear overall view that emphasising novelty can be positive when products have genuinely changed, and you also recognise that misleading claims can damage trust. However, the task asks both why businesses stress that products are new and whether this is positive or negative; these points are only partly developed. The explanation that novelty attracts attention and encourages customers to explore a product is relevant, but the reasons are repeated rather than extended with a specific example or fuller explanation. Your final position is also qualified by “if they really made any modifications,” while the opening says the positive side outweighs the negative, so the judgement is not fully consistent. Develop both the commercial motive and your evaluation more clearly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph about advertising’s benefits, a contrasting paragraph about manipulation, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “In addition,” “On the other hand,” and “Therefore” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several points are connected mechanically rather than developed in a logical sequence. For example, the first body paragraph moves from awareness to social-media advertising, then to product changes, without clearly distinguishing why businesses highlight novelty from the effects on consumers. The conclusion repeats the main idea but does not resolve the tension between the opening position and its condition. Group each paragraph around one clear point and use references that make the links between claims explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “potential customers,” “manipulate,” “attract consumers’ attention,” and “modifications.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited and several choices or forms are inaccurate, sometimes making the reader pause. Examples include “advertisements positive sides,” “make an intention,” and “positive mindset towards advertisements”; these are not natural collocations in this context. There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “awarness,” “manupulate,” “avobe,” and “turst.” Aim to use precise phrases for business motives and consumer responses, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More accurate collocations would make your argument clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “when,” and “if.” However, complex sentences are often not controlled accurately, and recurring errors can make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For instance, “one possible reason is that nowadays businesses influencing” lacks a finite verb, while “When a business make” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. The sentence beginning “There are several reasons…” also joins two independent clauses with only a comma. Other examples include “they loss their” and the inconsistent construction in “if they really made any modifications.” Work on complete clause structure, agreement, verb forms, and sentence boundaries; then proofread punctuation. Greater accuracy in these areas would make your ideas easier to understand.
