Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays buisnesses generally highlight in their advertising that their products are novel in some way. While there are some reasons of this trend, like attracting customers, in my opinion, it is a positive development in case of the effective promotion strategy.
There are a lot of reasons why companies emphasise about the originality of their goods. The primary catalyst is to attract the potential customers and increase revenue. Telling something new about the products is the most effective method to reach the customers. When consumers can able to distinguish a product from others, they find an interest to try this product because it is a human psychology to test something new. That's why, buisinesses always try to put some new information about their products in the advertisement. This will lead to surge their selling revenue. Furthermore, this type of strategy is a way of connecting people emotionally. Advertisements work based on the human psychology. The related team always do some prior research about human wants before making it available to consumers. As a result, advertising always connect people emotionally.
From my perspective, emphasising that products are new in the advertisement is a positive development. Nowdays advertising are so common that customers do not show interest to the products displaying in the advertisement. That's why companies try to find new strategy to increase their sell. One way is to tell something new about their goods. For example, the famous sneakers brand Nike made an advertisement regarding their shoes by telling that their shoes are better at playing football than others. Consequently, it leads to a significant increase in their sales.
In conclusion, businesses nowdays try to give some new information about their products in the advertisements in order to increase their sales and find customers. In my opinion, it is a positive development in the context of effective promotion strategy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both parts of the prompt: you explain that businesses stress novelty to attract customers and increase revenue, and you clearly judge the trend positively. The Nike example gives your position some support. However, the explanation of emotional connection is asserted rather than illustrated, and the example focuses on a claim that the shoes are better for football rather than clearly showing what is new about them. The discussion therefore has relevant ideas, but some are less fully developed or directly linked to the question than others. To strengthen the response, explain more precisely what kinds of novelty companies advertise and why these claims influence consumers, then use a specific example that demonstrates this process.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining businesses’ motives, a paragraph giving your opinion and an example, and a conclusion. The progression from reasons to evaluation is easy to follow, and linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “As a result” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, connections can feel mechanical, and repeated references to increasing sales and attracting customers limit the development of the argument. The reference in “This will lead to surge their selling revenue” is also not fully clear. Use a wider range of natural links and make each paragraph’s central point and supporting explanation more distinct.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “potential customers,” “originality,” “revenue,” “advertisement” and “emotionally,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “primary catalyst” and “significant increase.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “reasons of this trend,” “emphasise about,” “increase their sell” and “surge their selling revenue.” Spelling errors such as “buisnesses” and “Nowdays” also reduce accuracy. These issues make the vocabulary less controlled than the ideas require. Build precision by learning common verb–noun combinations and checking spelling, word forms and collocations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional clause (“When consumers can able to distinguish…”) and a relative clause (“the famous sneakers brand Nike made an advertisement…”). Most of the meaning remains clear, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “consumers can able to distinguish” combines incompatible verb forms, while “advertising always connect” has a subject–verb agreement error. Other examples include “companies emphasise about” and “advertising are so common,” which show problems with grammatical patterns and agreement. Sentence structures are varied to some extent, but control is not yet consistent. Review verb forms after modal verbs, subject–verb agreement, and countable/uncountable nouns, then proofread each sentence for these patterns.
