Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

The opening shows awareness of the topic: you refer to businesses introducing new products and promise to discuss reasons and effects. However, the response does not answer the task sufficiently. It gives no actual reasons why businesses emphasise novelty and does not state whether this is a positive or negative development; “its negative effects” hints at a view but does not explain or support it. The response also stops after the introduction, so there are no relevant examples or developed arguments. It is substantially below the required minimum length, which leaves the task largely unaddressed. To improve, state a clear position and develop both the reasons for this advertising strategy and your evaluation, using specific examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: the opening introduces the general topic and the phrase “not only the reasons … but also its negative effects” signals an intended structure. The ideas are connected within one sentence, so the reader can identify the broad direction. However, there is no progression beyond this introductory statement, and the promised discussion and conclusion are absent. The linking phrase is also not matched by developed points, making the organisation feel incomplete. Build separate paragraphs for the reasons and your evaluation, then use clear links such as “One reason is…” and “However…” to show how each point relates to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses some topic-related vocabulary, including “commercials,” “products,” “market,” and “public,” and attempts more formal phrasing such as “introducing their new items.” This gives the reader a general sense of the subject. However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural: “stay update regarding in products” and “forthcoming fradaments” are difficult to interpret, while “enterpenures” is misspelled. “New items” is also less precise than language such as “new products” or “product innovations.” These errors limit clarity and show that vocabulary is not yet controlled consistently. Prioritise accurate collocations and check spelling; for example, write “keep consumers informed about products entering the market.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt a complex opening structure with “not only … but also,” and the sentence is broadly understandable despite its problems. There is also an attempt to use a subordinate clause in “which comes in market.” However, grammatical control is inconsistent: “the commercials are useful in order to stay” has an unclear subject, “products which comes” has subject–verb disagreement, and “this essay” should begin with a capital letter. The sentence patterns are limited, and the errors make parts of the meaning difficult to follow. Practise forming clear subject–verb structures and checking agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries. For instance: “Businesses use advertising to inform consumers about products that have recently entered the market.”
