Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both questions: you suggest that businesses promote newness to attract customers, and you state that you see this as positive because it encourages innovation and offers more choice. These points are relevant, and the mobile-phone example begins to illustrate product innovation. However, the reasons are only partly explained, and the example is difficult to follow. The negative paragraph discusses advertising, prices and online shopping, but it does not clearly explain whether these are disadvantages of emphasising novelty or how they affect consumers. Your position also becomes less clear in the conclusion, which repeats ideas without resolving the contrast. Develop each main point with a clear explanation and a specific, relevant example, and make your overall judgement consistent throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

Your response has an introduction, separate body paragraphs and a conclusion, and you use signposts such as “Firstly,” “secondly,” “However” and “To conclude.” This gives the reader some sense of the intended structure. However, there is no clear progression of ideas within several paragraphs: the second paragraph moves from customer choice to mobile-phone features and then online shopping, while the third combines price comparison, advertising, affordability and shopping malls. Some linking expressions are repetitive or do not show the relationship between ideas accurately. References such as “this thing” and “them” are also unclear. Organise each body paragraph around one main reason, then explain and exemplify it in sequence, using linking words only where they clarify the connection.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “advertising,” “customers,” “innovation,” “prices” and “affordable,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “product,” “company” and “advertising.” Frequent spelling and word-choice problems, such as “custromer,” “Howerever,” “emphasies” and “highly refrance,” make parts of the response difficult to understand. Some combinations are also unnatural, for example “encourage and innovation” and “battery range and camer are desgin.” Build a more accurate set of phrases for discussing novelty, consumer appeal and product features, and check spelling and word forms. Aim to express each idea with a precise, natural collocation rather than repeating general terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to connect ideas with simple and compound sentences, and there are occasional attempts at longer structures, such as “people are very excited to see new product in the advertising.” However, the range is limited, and frequent errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles and verb forms make meaning unclear. For example, “they want to attract the customers by showing their product are different” needs a clear subject–verb relationship, while “mobile phone are customer very high battery range” does not form a complete, understandable sentence. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, including sentence openings such as “they” and “in my view.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clauses using “because,” “which” or “although,” checking that each sentence has a clear subject and verb.
