Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address both questions: you suggest that businesses highlight new features to attract customers and compete, and you state that you see this as positive. The mobile-phone example, mentioning cameras, battery life and design, is relevant. However, the explanation of why this development is positive is unclear and sometimes contradictory: claims about customer service and fixed prices are not clearly connected to product innovation, and the final sentence is unfinished. The response therefore only partially develops its position and supporting ideas. It also contains 198 words, so it does not meet the required minimum of 250. To improve, explain each main point with a clear cause-and-effect link and a specific example, then complete the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, a paragraph about companies’ motives, a paragraph giving your view, and an attempted conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “To conclude” help signal this organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow. For example, “They are may offer customer services and fixed prizes” appears without a clear link to the preceding point, while several short statements about advertising and buying repeat similar ideas. The conclusion ends abruptly at “mai,” leaving the essay without a complete final message. Use one central idea per paragraph, connect each supporting sentence explicitly to it, and ensure the conclusion restates your position in a complete sentence.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “attract customers,” “competition,” “battery life,” “modern design,” and “technology.” These choices show an attempt to discuss advertising and product development. However, the range is limited, and frequent spelling, word-form and collocation errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to understand. Examples include “new feathers” for product features, “chocies,” “exceting,” “prizes” where you appear to mean prices, and “advertisment attracts people attenions.” Some phrases, such as “Attract advertisment courageous to buy thing,” are especially unclear. Build a reliable set of topic vocabulary and check spelling and natural word combinations; for example, describe companies as “promoting new features” to “gain a competitive advantage.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including “For example, mobile phones companies often adverts new cameras, improved the battery life and modern design to attracts buying.” However, control of sentence structure is inconsistent, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction frequently make ideas hard to follow. Examples include “many businesses highlights,” “The companies introduces,” and “They are may offer”; the final sentence is also incomplete. There are few clearly controlled complex structures, so the range remains limited. Practise forming accurate basic clauses first, then combine them with straightforward connectors such as “because” and “which.” Check that each sentence has a clear subject and correctly formed verb, and proofread for agreement and complete sentence boundaries.
