Student answer (Band 5.5)

At the present time, some countries have large proportion of young people than the older community. I believe this is a beneficial point for society than its negative impacts. The teenagers have larger contribution.

Firstly, the young community playing a significant role in the growth of nation by using technoology. However, the adult people are more intelegent and understand the advancements more easily. A dramatical change can be drive by Artifical Inteligence. For instance, learners can gain a skill from online platforms and implement it in a business and its very beneficial for economical growth of a country. Furthermore, regarding this people fing much time for rest and other activities.

Another advantage of the teenagers is that they are more active. They try to participate in social welfares sach as awareness campaines, environment related goals, cherity work and many more. For example, locals are in the front row to clean their envirment. If a group work togather that nation can achive their goals more easily.

On the other hand, since the reduced number of older people, we forget about our traditions. They always wanted to celebrate their cultural events with full of passion and in this way our traditions lived longer. But the todays generation just want to attend the international cermonies. This is a considerable negative point because a group is well known by its culture.

To sum up, the current generation has many advantages than its disadvantages. These people help in the development and growth of a country. In contrast, somehow we lost our traditions.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages of a young population. However, the development of ideas is limited. For instance, the claim that young people use technology for economic growth is mentioned but lacks specific, well-explained examples. The argument regarding older people and traditions is also somewhat superficial. While a position is clear, the supporting points are often brief and lack the depth required for a higher band. The essay covers all parts of the task, but the ideas are not fully extended or supported with sufficient detail to reach a higher level of analysis.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Firstly', 'Furthermore', 'Another advantage', and 'On the other hand', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'regarding this people fing much time'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. While the overall arrangement is coherent, the use of cohesive devices is not always flexible or natural, which limits the score to a 6.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several spelling errors, such as 'technoology', 'intelegent', 'cherity', 'cermonies', and 'togather', which are noticeable. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, relying on basic terms like 'good', 'beneficial', and 'growth'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated or less common lexical items, combined with frequent spelling mistakes, prevents the response from achieving a higher band. To improve, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and proofreading for spelling accuracy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include 'some countries have large proportion' (missing article), 'dramatical change can be drive' (incorrect verb form), and 'the todays generation' (incorrect article usage). Punctuation is generally functional, but the frequency of errors in basic grammar—such as subject-verb agreement and article usage—is high. While these errors rarely impede communication, they are persistent enough to keep the score at a 5.5. A greater focus on sentence construction and proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy is recommended.
