Student answer (Band 5.0)
It has been observed that some countries have young population than older people. I presume that the benefits of these precautionary action would surpass its drawbacks to major extent. My position is elaborated further with reasons and relevant examples. Examining the brighter side of, the foremost one is that young people gives more benefits to nation than older one in a country. Because it brings more ideas and techniecs which acknowleged new innovation in a country for development. In addition, when more young people work together it increased economic growth . Countries like Pakistan have approximately 60% young population which brings new innovation for economic growth. In the contrary ,young people have lack of experience than older people. Moreover, these young people after 30 turned into older people which increase the burden into countries and reduce economic growth. To conclude this, there are some challenges but the energy and productivity of young people provide more benefits to a country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 159 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay attempts to address the prompt by discussing advantages and disadvantages, the arguments are superficial and lack sufficient supporting evidence or examples. The introduction is unclear, referring to 'precautionary action' which is not relevant to the topic of population demographics. Due to the severe under-length and the lack of depth in the arguments, the response does not fully address the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical flow is weak. While there are some attempts at cohesive devices such as 'In addition' and 'To conclude', the transitions between ideas are often abrupt or confusing. The paragraphing is present, but the development within each paragraph is too limited to demonstrate a clear progression of ideas. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the phrase 'these precautionary action' in the introduction, which does not link back to any previously mentioned concept.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The range of vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are several spelling errors, such as 'techniecs' (techniques) and 'acknowleged' (acknowledge). The word choice is often imprecise or inappropriate for an academic context, for example, 'brighter side of' and 'turned into older people'. The student struggles to use less common lexical items effectively, and the overall vocabulary is basic, which restricts the ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('young people gives', 'it increased economic growth') and incorrect article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with irregular spacing and misuse of commas. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors and the lack of complex sentence structures prevent the response from reaching a higher band score.
