Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent time, the number of young adults has been increased significantly in some countries comparing to the number of older people. Some people think this an advantage for a country , while others think the opposite. However, from my perspective the advantages of having young adults is a blessing for country, thus, it far outweigh the disadvantages.
First and foremost, young adults are an asset for a country. Because, they are in the peak of their productive stage, therefore a country's government should utilize this huge portion of population smartly to increase the overall efficiency of a country. For instance, in Bangladesh a large number of people in young adult stage, and they are from both educated and uneducated family. If government can create more opportunities for the uneducated population by giving them enough training and create more job scopes in RMG (readymade garment) sector this will have a positive impact on the country's overall economy.
Secondly, a large number of educated population in Bangladesh are remain jobless. In the era of AI, government can build training centers and turning this sizeable population into a productive workforce. Consequently, they will be able to increase the foreign reserve of our country.
At same time, Start-ups can also increase the job opportunities for others. In Bangladesh the number of women are more than half of the total population. Thus, emphasizing on Micro-economy, and engaging this huge population can lead toward us to become more financially stable country. For instance, in vocational training center they acquire different set of skills , subsequently they will be to earn by themselves, and will create a ripple affect among the society.
To sum up, i would like to state that this essay contains enough specimen why the number of young adults is an advantage for a country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. The ideas are relevant, focusing on economic productivity and workforce development. However, the essay is somewhat unbalanced; it focuses almost exclusively on the advantages, with only a passing mention of the 'opposite' view in the introduction. To reach a higher band, the disadvantages (such as potential youth unemployment or social unrest) should be acknowledged and addressed more thoroughly to provide a more balanced argument. The examples provided, particularly regarding Bangladesh, are relevant and help support the main points, though the development of these ideas could be more nuanced.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'First and foremost', 'Secondly', 'Consequently', and 'To sum up' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences is a bit abrupt, such as the transition into the discussion about start-ups. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall progression of ideas could be smoother to ensure a more natural flow throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'productive stage', 'RMG sector', 'foreign reserve', and 'micro-economy'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'in recent time' (should be 'in recent times'), 'job scopes' (should be 'job opportunities'), and 'ripple affect' (should be 'ripple effect'). The range is sufficient to convey meaning, but more precise and varied vocabulary would be needed to reach a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'the number of young adults has been increased' (should be 'has increased'), 'a blessing for country' (should be 'a blessing for a country'), and 'the number of women are more' (should be 'is more'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some misplaced commas. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score in this criterion.
