Student answer (Band 6.0)
At present, some countries have a much large population proportion of young adults than older people. Although this situation can create some pressure on employment and public service, i believe that advantages are greater that because a young population can provide a strong workforce and contribute to economic development.
one major advantage of having large number of young adults is that they can provide a strong and productive workforce. young people are generally more physically active, innovative ideas, adaptability and willingness to work with more confidence. If they get a perfect education, research tutorials and employment opportunities, they can contribute significantly to economic growth and support for the development of their home countries. For example, countries with a large number of educated young adults can attract overseas companies because business have to access to a relatively large pool of skilled manpower's. Therefore, having more youth individuals can strengthen the economy and increase a country's potential for the future sustainable development.
On the other hand, having a large young people can also cause a several problems when their is not a enough employment opportunities. Every years, a large number of young people enter into a labour market but the countries economy can't able to fulfilled that demand which leads to unemployment, migration, raise in suicidal rate. Governments may also need to spend more on education, housing, healthcare and transport. Thus, without proper planning and investment, a youthful population can become an economic and social challenge.
I believe the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, but only when governments make effective use of the young workforce. Investment in education, vocational training and job creation is essential. A young population is not automatically an advantage, it becomes one when young people have opportunities to work and contribute.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, providing a clear position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed, such as the discussion on economic growth through a skilled workforce and the potential social challenges of unemployment. However, some points could be further extended; for instance, the mention of 'suicidal rate' is a significant claim that lacks sufficient explanation or context. The position is consistent throughout the essay, and the conclusion effectively summarizes the main argument. To reach a higher band, ensure that all claims are supported with more nuanced reasoning rather than just listing potential negative outcomes.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central topic, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow. Cohesive devices such as 'Although', 'For example', 'Therefore', and 'On the other hand' are used effectively to link ideas. However, there are occasional mechanical errors in referencing and phrasing, such as 'having a large young people' and 'their is not a enough', which slightly disrupt the flow. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the overall structure supports the development of the argument well.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'sustainable development', 'vocational training', and 'labour market'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'manpower's' (should be 'manpower'), 'youth individuals' (should be 'young individuals'), and 'raise in suicidal rate' (should be 'rise in suicide rates'). These errors do not impede communication but indicate a need for more precise control over word forms and collocations to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the writer attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the countries economy'), subject-verb agreement ('business have to access'), and verb forms ('can't able to fulfilled'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the frequency of these grammatical slips prevents the response from reaching a higher band. To improve, the writer should focus on proofreading for basic errors in tense, article usage, and modal verb construction, as these errors occur throughout the text.
