Student answer (Band 5.5)

The topic about the population that some country contains large number of youth while others are having more old age population has beeen debatable. Currently, the population of some countries includes a relatively larger number of young adults, compared with the number of older people. Analyzing the statement and expalining it further, the first point is that more younger people in a country is considered as demographic divident. Means a country having more young age population can get higher economic growth. As young people provide their services in different sector like education, medical, engineering, and infrastructure. Therefore it is considered that having more young age population, the growth of the economy boost as compared to the old age population. Younger people contribution increase the overall GDP ( Gross Domestic Product) of the economy.

Now a days, young generations are more aware of advanced skills. However, younger people performing their duties in different areas can perform well than older people. We can take the example of a clerk, performing their duties in older ways. If a young person having the knowledge of technical advancment can work accurate and more than that clerk who don't have computer's knowledge. On the other hand old age population is condiderd a burdun on the economy. Many countries having more old age population means thay have to invest more in medical sector and pension scheme. As old age people are unable to work in this age so doing nothing, they totally depend on their pension. For older people, medication is mendatory because people more than age 60 dfinitely having the problem of diabtease and high blood pressure. These diseases are consider very common now a days.

In conclusion, i would like to say that the advantages of this situation outweigh the disadvantages. Nations having more youngters can enhance their economic growth taking benefits from their age and skills. While nations with older more old age population will have to invest more in medical and pension schemes which in turn don't have any contribution to economic grwoth.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of having a younger population compared to an older one, and takes a clear position in the conclusion. Ideas are presented, such as the concept of the demographic dividend, economic growth, and the burden of pension and medical schemes. However, several ideas are underdeveloped or lack full extension. For instance, the comparison between a traditional clerk and a technically skilled young person is somewhat simplistic and repetitive. Furthermore, there are minor generalizations and occasional lapses in task focus. Nevertheless, all parts of the prompt are covered, earning a Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance stated in the conclusion. Paragraphing is used to separate different aspects of the argument, such as economic benefits versus the disadvantages of an aging population. However, cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or faulty, such as starting sentences with 'Means a country...' or using 'Now a days' and 'On the other hand' somewhat awkwardly. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and logical progression within paragraphs stumbles due to abrupt shifts between sentences. This aligns best with the Band 5.5 descriptor.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the student to convey basic arguments about the economy, GDP, and healthcare. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary like 'demographic divident' and 'technical advancment', but these contain spelling errors ('divident', 'advancment', 'mendatory', 'diabtease'). Other word choices and collocations are unnatural, such as 'old age population is condiderd a burdun'. These vocabulary errors and frequent spelling mistakes mean the lexical profile sits comfortably at Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('younger people performing their duties... can perform well', 'nations with older more old age population will have to...'), fragments ('Means a country having more...'), and incorrect preposition usage. Punctuation and capitalization are also inconsistent, as seen in 'i would like to say'. While communication is generally maintained, the density of errors keeps the score at Band 5.0.
