Student answer (Band 5.0)

At the current time period ; I think in india, there is relatively large number of young adults as compared to the number of older peoples . Because its ocur with time , as change in time the older people death occurs more quickly as the previous generation older people . As people life time period become too short , as moving with time . Previous generation people life time period is longer then to this generation . There is to much benefits of older people . According to me younger people is increases the econmy growth of the any country . The younger people make a perfect nation and it make a perfect nation . How younger people increases the econemy growth ? according to me the younger people come up with modren education and new ideas or new information . when they start own working mean's starting their bussines at the large scale , when they start exporting and importing it generally effects the economy growth . And some younger people are highly skilled in IT fields such as; programing ,developing ,gaming etc. these peoples are god giffted i think it. Which can represent their country at the international level . Which make proud for country . But they also have same disadvantage ; they can expend population, there is two main problem ; first to provide food and land for life ,and second one is providing facilties to every one such as ; education, health ,etc.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response attempts to address the prompt regarding the advantages and disadvantages of having a large young adult population. However, the task requirement is not met as the length is 249 words, falling one word short of the 250-word minimum, which incurs a penalty. The student outlines some ideas such as economic growth, modern education, and disadvantages like population pressure and providing facilities. However, the arguments remain underdeveloped, repetitive, and contain logical inconsistencies, such as the claim that older people's lifespans are decreasing. The position is at times unclear and lacks full extension and support throughout, aligning best with a band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text shows some basic organization, separating the introduction, advantages, and disadvantages into paragraphs, though the paragraphing is irregular and contains large spacing gaps. Progression of ideas is frequently interrupted by confusing transitions and repetitive phrasing, such as 'The younger people make a perfect nation and it make a perfect nation'. Cohesive devices are often inadequate, mechanical, or misused, with excessive reliance on informal punctuation and run-on sentences. Paragraphing is used, but the overall logical sequencing is faulty and lacks clear overall progression, placing it firmly at a band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with noticeable errors that occasionally impede understanding. Examples of limited range and imprecise word choice include 'older peoples', 'econemy growth', 'modren education', and 'god giffted'. The student attempts some less common vocabulary items such as 'exporting and importing' and 'international level', but these are undermined by frequent spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'expend population' instead of 'expand population' or 'expenditure'. This performance reflects the descriptors for band 4.5, rounded to 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student uses a very limited range of structures, relying heavily on simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex clauses. Grammatical accuracy is low, with persistent errors in subject-verb agreement ('younger people is increases', 'these peoples are'), punctuation, tense usage, and awkward phrasing ('As people life time period become too short'). Frequent errors cause considerable difficulty for the reader and distort meaning in several places, matching the characteristics of a band 4.5, rounded up to 5.0.
