Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, in some countries there is large proportion of young adults compared to older people. Although, indeed older people are more experienced but i firmly believe that the advantages of having young adults outweigh the disadvantages.
Firstly, young adults are essential for every country because through them countries make progress. Young adults can acquire new skills in evolving fields of technology, mathematics, science etc. rapidly. Beacuse through them countries can have substantial benefits in number of ways. For instance, after learning and implementing some valuable skills, they can contribute to the country's economic growth, reputation and can help to alleviate peverty to some extent. Young adults are also crucial for any family because they when their parents get old then they need someone to take care of them.
Despite the advantages, this situation also brings some drawbacks. If there is large proportion of young adults then there should be adequate job opportunities for them. Because maintaining balance in both becomes essential. If there will not be the balance then young adults without jobs will indulge theirselves in illegal activities to earn money. In number of countries young adults are more into drugs. There should be some strict policies for them regarding education, physical activities from both the family and the government. Because if government does not do anything in this regard then this can significantally play role in pusing back the country.
To conclude, young adults are valuable asset for any nation. Providing them necessary facilities and play role in governing them can substantially affect the overall country in positive way.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The student addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of having a young population, presenting a clear position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. Ideas are generally relevant, such as economic growth, technological adaptation, and potential issues like unemployment and illegal activities. However, some arguments lack full extension and suffer from generalisation. For instance, the point regarding family care ('when their parents get old then they need someone to take care of them') is underdeveloped and slightly contradictory to the prompt's focus on a population with a large proportion of young adults. Nevertheless, the main task requirements are met adequately, aligning with a Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response presents a coherent overall arrangement with a logical progression of ideas across paragraphs. The essay begins with an introduction outlining the topic and position, moves to body paragraphs discussing advantages and disadvantages, and concludes with a summary. Cohesive devices are used to signal transitions, such as 'Firstly', 'Despite the advantages', and 'To conclude'. However, referencing and cohesion are sometimes faulty or mechanical, as seen in the phrasing 'Beacuse through them countries can have substantial benefits in number of ways' and minor awkward transitions. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct themes, placing the response firmly at a Band 6.0 level.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common lexical items such as 'evolving fields', 'substantial benefits', 'alleviate peverty', and 'valuable asset'. However, there are noticeable spelling errors ('Beacuse', 'peverty', 'significantally', 'pusing') and occasional inaccuracies in word choice or collocation (e.g., 'indulge theirselves', 'play role in governing them'). These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating conditional structures and relative clauses (e.g., 'If there is large proportion of young adults then there should be adequate job opportunities for them'). However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly missing articles ('a large proportion', 'a significant role'), punctuation slips, and awkward phrasing ('if government does not do anything in this regard then this can significantally play role in pusing back the country'). These errors cause some difficulty for the reader at times, placing the grammatical performance at Band 5.5.
